*At least as far as Section 7 of the plans are concerned. I still need to make a modification to make room for the VS bonding stud, and also add the rudder trim (which is a huge amount of work still). Eventually, in Section 12, the rudder will also receive fairings at the top and bottom... but that's not called for yet, so I'm calling it "done" ... for now.
For more details about the construction of the rudder, see the build log.
How do others resist laying it all out and taking a photo after every row? Mine is going to be threadbare before I even finish!

My next test was to see how the seven-pointed star fit. Would it work right? It did. (Once I fixed the piece I sewed in sideways.)
We finally had the appointment we wanted, with a surgeon qualified to work with Janice's artificial elbow. The x-rays do not reveal the cause of the pain she's been experiencing since early November, he said. The titanium mechanism seems to be intact.
So, he's ordered some other diagnostics, including blood work and a bone scan. The adventure continues!
At least we know we're now in the right hands. It's an interesting medical system we have, isn't it?

Originally the bike had Sram Centera twist shifters, but the cable pull ratio of the dérailleur was all wrong. The Centera shifters are the Shimano-compatible version of the Sram X-5 twisties, which my RANS Sequoia once sported. They were just as awful.
Here, I've shoehorned in a Shimano M751 Deore XT shifter, bought cheaply from eBay, and although the angle is a bit wrong for the triggers, it's so much better than it was that I can put up with it.
My ancient Sigma BC1200 is having yet another stay of execution, this time with bits of cardboard stuffed inside the battery housing to try to stop it cutting out and locking up. I also had to mend three separate breaks in the sensor wire before it worked properly.

General view of the site strip footings and some of the pier pads a day after the concrete had been poured and allowed to set. I was told that about 19 square meters of concrete went into the trenches - 18 October 2006.
Since we completed our first 365 together, Alicia and I have decided to keep it going and start another one! It became part of our everyday together and we continue to be inspired by one another.
This was a quick shot on the way home from Yosemite. We had actually seen this tree on the way up and were bummed that we didn't stop. We got lucky and the cows were hanging out at the tree for our return trip.

Here it is! My complete reproduction inner backglass in the backbox!
It's a sheet of 26"x26" plexiglass with a vinyl decal completely covering it, and then a sheet of mirror film on top of that. I didn't bother to cut the center out of the mirror film, because Mars shines through it just fine, and it actually creates a neat effect where he's completely invisible when the game is off, and magically appears when the game's turned on!
The indicator light text is just printed on paper affixed to the back of the plexiglass.
If I ever made another one of these, I would use 1/8" plexiglass (I used 1/12" because that's all that I could find in sizes close to 26"x26" without being too small or WAY too big), and I would print an additional mask layer for the cape underneath the image layer. On the original inner backglass, Mars's cape has an opaque layer behind all of it, whereas on this one only the indicators are opaque, so they stand out more. In fact, I've already created a new image for that mask layer, and if there's any demand for more of these reproduction inner backglasses I'll use it to make them even better than this one!
Amazingly, I think this is the very last thing I've had left to do on refurbishing this machine, and now it's TOTALLY FINISHED!! I guess I'll play a few games and let that sink in, and then figure out what I want to do with it next!
Thanks for reading along on this crazy adventure, and please feel free to leave me any comments or questions on any of the images in this set!

Carmen is currently participating in a light-hearted BJD fashion contest, Instagram's Next Top BJD :D The first challenge was "Neutral plus a pop of color", so basically an outfit consisting of a neutral-colored piece and something colorful. I had just finished sewing simple nightwear for Carmen and thought that the colors fit the theme quite nicely ^^
Besides taking one photo for the challenge, I took some other photos just for fun to have a complete photoshoot for my blog :3 I'm having so much fun with the contest so far, this challenge gave me so much inspiration and I'm sure the future challenges will do just the same! I already have an outfit picked for the second challenge, just need to take the photos~
