Comparison photo of Jessie and her pal Kaitlyn on Halloween 2004(left) and 2005(right).
Sadly enough, Kaitlyn's family is moving to South Carolina mid next year, so this is Kaitlyn and Jessie's last Halloween together.
Nikon CoolPix P7700 monochrome setting on the left, Olympus 35SPn with Ilford FP-4 Plus 125 on the right. Not sure just why the difference in image sizes, as they are both 5x7 crops. Must be something to do with the original image size, as what comes out of the Nikon displays larger in PSE10 than the 16base scans I get with 35mm film from PhotoUSA.
The Nikon image was corrected for exposure, and the Olympus image was taken with an orange filter.
1955 Customline by Trax and 1958-59 Mainline by Armco. The Trax is too low and the Armco seems slightly too big.
Some people say I look like Alyson Hannigan, the girl who played Willow in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Just got a new (used) Vivitar 2x Teleconverter. It is the 7 element AF-D for Nikon mount. I was asked how it performs and took a couple shots for comparison. The camera used was a Nikon D3100 and the lens was a Tamron SP 70-300.
Details of each crop:
1. Tamron SP 70-300 @ 300mm 100% crop
2. Tamron SP 70-300 @ 300mm w/ 2x TC 100% crop
3. Image # 1 detail @ 200% crop
4. Image # 2 detail @ 100% crop
5. Image # 1 detail @ 400% crop
6. Image # 2 detail @ 200% crop
***Camera settings:
Image # 1: 1/400 | f/5.6 | ISO 100
Image # 2: 1/125 | f/5.6 | ISO 160
Other than cropping, the images are unedited jpg outputs directly from the camera. The photos were taken on different days and this may have affected the white balance and colors slightly. Also, the camera was hand held and I would expect a better result with a tripod.
This is the kit lens that came with the 80D camera. I just put this on shutter priority and aimed and shot (hand held no flash) for comparison with the Apple iPhone 8 with accessory zoom lens.
I purchased an Apple iPhone on July 1, 2007, but still have my T-Mobile Sidekick III. I put the two together (looking at Mod-Blog for a size comparison.
This is a comparison between the original photo (top) and a new "skin air brushing technique" (bottom). I really like the way it turns out... it's just a shame it takes so many steps and time to complete.
As for the picture - it's a very old one (over a year anyway) which was a good test subject as there was a large amount of skin in this photo (which obviously is needed to really demonstrate the technique).
Photos (NOT handheld shots) for comparison of the Nikkor 80-400 VR to the 70-200VR with and without the TC-20EII teleconverter. I have uploaded original full size photos for various focal lengths and apertures of each lens, along with two different crops of each photo.
All photos are unedited other than cropping.
The lens, focal length, and aperture data for each photo are given in the filenames.
All photos were taken with a Nikon D200 sitting on a stable piano bench approximately 8 feet from the feather, which was taped to a wall and sticking out horizontally into the air at about the same level as the camera, and roughly perpendicular to the camera's line of sight.
Auto focus was used to focus on the middle of the narrow blue stripe just to the left (in these photos) of the dark eye.
ISO was 100.
VR was off.
Mirror lockup and the default mirror lockup timed shutter release were used to prevent camera shake.
Illumination was from an SB800 flash mounted on the camera in TTL mode.
Spot metering was used.
I used portrait mode for this one and I like how the color turned out in the background. I wish it would have looked more like a leaf. 18/20
