Or maybe neither of them look right? Even a one-word answer would be helpful.
My monitor calibration has slipped badly in the last few weeks. The image at right looked fine on my old monitor profile setting.
I reprofiled the monitor and made the image at left. It looks fine on my monitor with the new profile.
So which is it? Left, right or neither?
Many thanks for taking time to look at this!
Evidentemente Hesiam sembra più "piccolo" perché i muscoli lo fan tozzo? :look: Mentre Kira é più longilineo e smagrinchiolo XD
Left is the basic version & right is the original first release.
Differences:
Hair: length & color
Face: more blush on basic, lips completely different
Clothes: same material but basic has a simple dress while original has a multi layered dress. Belt is on opposite direction & does not have the gold paint.

Comparison of the (single coated) Nippon Kogaku Japan Nikkor-N 24mm f/2.8 with the (multicoated) Nikon Nikkor-N.C 24mm f/2.8. Both have the same optical formula, only the coating is different. HN-3 hood, no filter, Nikon D90 body.
My macbook, ds and shiny new EEE.
I like sticking stickers on things...my ds almost got an Iron Maiden sticker on it the other day simply for the reason that it and the Iron Maiden stickers were both nearby at the same time. I am but a tiny child really.
A comparison between the K-1 with the Pentax 24-70 and the K-5 with the Pentax 18-55.
Both were underexposed by 1 Stop intentionally. The K-1 had no filter attached, the K-5 had a polarizer and an UV-filter attached. The pictures were shot in RAW and I used the defaults of the Camera-Raw Plugin to save them as JPGs - no further edits.
Comparison of a leaf inspired by Phu Tran (left) to a Kawasaki rose leaf (right). (I don't know how Phu folds his leaves, this is what I came up with inspired by pictures of his design.) Each was folded from the same size square.
The Protovelo is a big bike for me - big in the Rivendell-fit kind of way, but also exceptionally comfortable with Albatross bars, and ready for "country bike" rambling, S240s, and all the wonderful things that Grant designs for. I put drops on last year, as I was riding the bike on harder efforts, and the Albatross bars weren't doing it for me. Its a nice ride with drops, but I feel too stretched out. Looking at Mr. Heine's Grand Bois, the Protovelo is bigger, but the fit-dimensions are similar, especially the saddle-to-cockpit distance. The thick powdercoat on that lugged stem won't let me lower it any more, so I'm going to try rando bars on a regular Technomic to get those narrower bars down and see if it tightens up the ride.

But somebody told me I should do it in BW...
I still prefer the colored IR...dare to be different.. :)
I find this unusual. Any thoughts...
The plates are slightly off because of the way I held her head from the bottom.
Comparison of some 35 mm lenses, #2
(center)
For this comparison I took pictures with 8 SLR-lenses with 35 mm focal length (description here: flic.kr/p/2qVveaJ) with a DSLR (36MP, full frame), and for each lens with every f-stop (no half-steps, except fully open). Target was an advertising poster in a street, about 70 m away, which was aligned to the center. I took out-of-cam jpgs without any enhancements and fixed white balance, and the crops with the target were transferred directly into this chart. The size of one crop is only 70x90 of an 7360x4912 picture (about 0.02% area), so that is true pixel peeping.
I used fixed combinations of shutter speed and f-stop, so at f4 I always used a 1/250 s, at f5.6 1/125 s, and so on. Unfortunately the sky was not consistently bright, so some rows are brighter or darker.
Flektogon, Skoparex and Auto-Takumar are starting well wide open, compared to the other five contestants. When stopping down the contrast remains constant, the resolution is improving until reaching f8. Probably the best performance provides the Skoparex at f5.6 and f8.
The last four, Lithagon, Travegon and the Yashinons are starting rather soft.
Like expected, all lenses show their best performance in the mid-range. At high f-stops diffraction drives down the quality, very clear at the Lithagon and the Travegon.
The Takumars should have the same optics, in my opinion they have also the same coating. Nevertheless, I have the impression, that the older Auto-Takumar is a bit better, even if I consider the lower contrast due to the higher exposure.
Surprisingly no lens has serious problems with chromatic aberrations, you would see them immediately on the big black arrow on white ground. Sometimes you can see a green or magenta "shadow", but that's all.
To sum it up in short: top group with Flektogon and Skoparex, last group with Lithagon and both Yashinons.
I made a second chart with the poster placed in a corner. The results can be seen here:
A side-by-side comparison of shots at increasing ISO with my Nikon D600 (100% crops). Not a lot of noise at 1600 and 3200. Some noise at 6400. Significant noise at 12800 and above.

Someone asked if the Malcontent had a small body.
I dunno how well you can tell from this shot, but it's actually bigger than the Tinsel Tart. It's a little too wide to fit in that case. I mean, I can force it in, but it's obviously not a good fit.
BTW, excuse my living room. My wife somehow tolerates the whole house being my warehouse.
Totally didn't realize that I didn't upload my box opening + comparisons onto Flickr.
Some different eyes. These were 12mm EDs.
