Have added some comparison photos on my blog of a Dolls Be With You 1/6 BJD with a Fairyland Littlefee.
And here are some comparisons to Live Action Christie since I find her to be interesting as the only Midge sculpt in dark vinyl.
Also I keep reading how everyone thinks ALL vintage Christie dolls used a recoloured Midge head, when Midge has a much bigger mouth in comparison to Julia/Christie as well as a different jawline. Comparing them side by side I can see how they modified the Midge sculpt to turn into Christie (the nose and eye sculpts give it away) but I think it’s different enough to not call it a direct Midge recolour.
iPhone 4s camera compared to Nikon D200 with Nikkor 17-55 f2.8 dx lens.
I KNOW it's not really fair and that it's "just a phone", but its still worth comparing to see what the quality is really like rather than just saying "OMG it's 8mp and it's an iPhone so therefore it's awesome!!!!" Megapixels are not everything and don't tell the whole story by a long shot.
This isn't a perfect comparison with precise accuracy but it's close and gives an idea of how good (and bad) the iPhone 4s camera really is. View the largest size to see the details.
Generally I see a LOT more digital noise from the iPhone and highlights are often blown out. This is probably a decision Apple made due to user input. (I sure wish the built-in camera app had exposure compensation!!)
Overall though, this tiny little camera isn't bad and a few generations down the road it'll be pretty amazing.

Comparison of Contrast. I hadn't worked on these blocks all break and I started to realize it was because I didn't quite like the level of contrast. I loved the fabrics, but I could only make out the block pattern in certain lights. I bought some cream quilting cotton and tried out a block using that as the background. Much better! I'm going to alternate between the turquoise and grey for each block. I also abandoned the hand piecing for this quilt. I'll never finish otherwise!
I've attempted on a number of occasions to get a decent comparison shot for this one - this'll have to do!
The top picture is the 1860's and shows a glimpse of Croft House:
"Croft House, which in 1893 was home to the quaintly-named Toilet Club run by Frederick Chave. Croft House was described as 'one of the most elegant and recherche in the city', a large private house and Mr Chave (known for his 'spirited enterprise, genial courtesy and considerable attention to the requirements of his customers') had 'transformed it into a perfect palace of luxury and comfort'. It was 'the only establishment in Bristol lighted by 3 specially constructed lamps by J Mason of Birmingham, whose opal reflectors provided illumination quite equal to electric light'. Among services offered were hair cutting, shaving, shampooing and singeing"
It was knocked down in 1966 to build the delightful Westmoreland House...the derelict shell of which festers to this day on the site thanks to absentee landlords.
I'm not sure if Reece Winstone ever published a picture of Croft House - will have to have a root through the books when I get a chance.
Switch Taeheo is a slightly smaller head. (Smaller than Shiho and most likely smaller than Soseo?)
The colour difference is less pronounced to the eye than here in the pictures.

A comparison of the 12 pencil sets of Derwent Inktense and Derwent Watercolor. The watercolor pencils are a bit duller in person, the Inktense is definitely brighter and bolder. Note the differences between the blacks and greens. The water color pencils colors match the regular artist pencils, they even have the same color names. The Inktense is pretty close to my Winsor Newton watercolors.

My bff brought Kaito, her SID Eric, over a while ago, and I got some comparison shots vs Sigfried, my Claude.
Sigfried is normal skin, with Iple's Claude faceup B. Kaito is peach gold, with Iple's Eric faceup A.
Their mouths are very similar, but there are noticable differences in their noses bridges, cheekbone width, and jawline. Eric's face is narrower than Claude's.
Kaito belongs to Tatiana_Celeste
A comparison of image stacking and processing using Lynkeos and Nebulosity. The sharpening of the Lynkeos stack was a little too aggressive. The Nebulosity sharpening tools seem hard to control so I used the Lynkeos tools to sharpen it’s stack as well.
This compares camera systems overall for a much simplified overview. Like the previous table, there are exceptions but this is a coarse summary intended to provide comparison at a glance.
Feel free to discuss below.

More comparisons between my X-Wing MOC and the Red 5 hero miniature. I struggled to match the perspectives of these photos.
hello people!
It took me, but I came back!
For over weeks not photographing, just solving some problems and training issues photoshop ...
would like to bring several new images, angles, edits, cuts and everything that provides a real learning, but is really hard, I change, and now live in an apartment where I do not have white walls, which complicates the process, and still do not have money to set up my studio lol
My holidays are over and I have not studied everything he had promised to photograph, actually began to dedicate myself after I returned to work, and I'm improving, I have a lot to learn but do not want to leave the record of the steps outside.
This photo is the first of a sequence of pictures I took one night, the intention was to use them for training yourself, and have noticed several things.
First: When taking pictures using flashes off (or other situation) pay more attention to the results right after the click, as it is these results that will make your job easier then, because when looking at the photos on the LCD viewfinder of the camera quickly I believed that the lights were excelent, but the computer could see that in some places the hair ended up being too light and the ear is also that, believe it can complicate things enough time to remove the background photo.
Second, the background, like to have options at my fingertips, but as soon as possible I will make some funds, we must always look for funds that try to contrast enough with the subject photographed.
Third: Maybe things simple check list is a kind of exaggeration, but you may avoid a big mistake by me in this picture, because they do click before you start I had in mind which would put the bottom, which orientation of the picture, widescreen portrait or things would be easier as well, pesquenos details can save you minutes or hours of work and errors that you too lazy to fix rsrsrsrs
Good for not dwell more on this text go to the technique.
I started training material issues primarily by two people, but the inspiration and idea I copied (I hope it will not be offended) of Regina Pagles www.flickr.com/photos/reginapagles/
And the descriptions of pictures of her I found two great authors and photographers that I tried to get their materials in this wonderful world of issues in photoshop
Calvinize - Calvin Hollyhood : partner.video2brain.com/calvinen/course-423.htm
Matt Kloskowski - Photoshop Compositing Secrets : www.amazon.com/Photoshop-Compositing-Secrets-Selections-C...
Using the techniques of these two guys is possible to get impressive results, these studies found that especially for cutting hair, body, clothes ... There is not a definitive technique, and depending on each picture you will use a technique, another technique or both together looking for the best result,
In my image is not like the cut
Strobist:
Flash YongNuo 560 - the front with reflective umbrella (I no longer remember the power)
2 Flashes YongNuo 460 II - one on each side behind the subject aiming at the sides of the face.
Conclusion: I have to train more, seek more perfection and patience in Photoshop, when shooting to avoid silly mistakes and improve my techniques cut ...
My newest light is at left. The triple-beamed one at right is the oldest of these; I bought it as a gift for my wife when she bought her first car, back in 2006. All four flashlights have new batteries in them. So I guess the new one lived up to its claim.
Note: three of these lights are each powered by three AAA batteries, while the fourth (third in the photo) is powered by two AA batteries.
