This garden was just a square patch of dirt. I designed it to have a concrete pad with the focal fire feature. The black and charcoal concrete sets off the new plantings, the new IPE benches and bar. The aqua cove pebbles and bright blue chairs add nice pops of color to the space.

The Delta Solar Ruins near Hinckley, Utah. What seems at first like Coney Island parachute rides, then maybe a sci-fi film set, then possibly a poorly built yet plausible solar energy system turns out to be a $50 million hoax and tax fraud scheme.
If you only read travel blogs you might think this fairly sizeable installation had some chance at generating power through the use of clear plastic "magnifying elements" directing the sun's rays into a "crucible of combustible material" which would then produce steam to run generators. It's essentially an installation of ten giant kids and their magnifying glasses, fifty feet tall made of scrap metal and plastic that would somehow be automatically heliotropic while standing up to desert winds and be able produce measurable power. Even if it were possible, or safe, to ignite material to produce steam at this scale, those are no more than tall shade structures, with no magnifying qualities whatsoever.
Thousands of these "solar lenses" were sold to customers with little or no down payment who would then receive a tax credit worth up to 30% of the final purchase price.

This reminds me of a tortoise tucking under its shell. This was very frustrating to take. There was a breeze and despite my millions of shots few were in focus, and those that were had some of the better features obscured. I decided just to put this mediocre shot in because I liked the spider.

bought a kodak camera with expired film roll – for just 2$. this is my first experience shooting with disposable cam w/ cheap optics.
12 exp. film was expired almost 5 years ago.

This compact is decorated with polymer clay. I used a combination of two techniques called mokume gane and mica shift. It has a wonderful satin finish.

Compact shelving saves the Library space and money. By concentrating the weight in the lower level, the Library reduced the number of floors and amount of steel needed to hold the books.
