Apparently a very common bird in Europe - the Great Tit (Parus Major). He practically posed for me near Van Gogh's house. I can't believe the name of the bird. It's kind of embarassing to me.
A Common Poorwill sits on the ground at night, watching for insects flying by.

The Common Stilt (or Black-winged Stilt) is another resident of the big aviary at our zoo. I think they have a very cute face and these red eyes are quite striking.

This was a real treat for me. We took the drive at Anahuac down to Frozen Point and it seemed like every 10 posts, there was a perched nighthawk. It was a great opportunity to observe them more closely from the car. This was the first time I've seen them perched and not flying above.
Enallagma cyathigerum taken at Wigan Flashes LNR with my Sigma 105mm macro lens. I've been trying to take a photo with the eyes in sharp focus for years and finally managed it now I have the right equipment

A Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus tinnunculus) flies above me as I return home after spending a day at the 2023 RAF Cosford Air Show.
I'd spent all day photographing aircraft and to be honest, in the challenging conditions, I was more pleased with how this image came out!
