I went with my friend Charlotte to an event on Prince's Avenue. I've been a few times before - it's called Beat The Clock. They play 70s and 80s and lots more - all played from 7" vinyl. Old school!
We had a cracking night and danced most of the night away.
While we were there, someone tok a photo of me while I was on the dancefloor, and I absolutely love it! I have it in colour and black and white, and I have to say I prefer the black and white - it's more atmospheric. Totally love the photo and it will be one I print out to put up on my wall!

Steve Brodie became famous in 1886 as the first person to survive a jump off the Brooklyn Bridge, but it's far from clear that he ever actually jumped. Many believed he had someone throw a dummy off the bridge while he swam out toward the spot where it landed, surfacing near a boat that pulled him out of the water. Whether or not he really did the deed, he took full advantage of the celebrity that came his way as a result, opening a successful bar that traded on his reputation and starring in a play that climaxed with him leaping off the bridge to save a girl's life. And his name lived on long after he did. In 1949, almost half a century after his passing, he was the subject of a Bugs Bunny cartoon. Watch it here!
(Curiously, an 1886 NY Times account of his supposed feat described him, without any further elaboration, as a "long-distance pedestrian".)

Meestal zijn de zwerfstenen die men in de Lüneburger Heide vindt mooi afgerond. In tegenstelling tot het gewone liggen er op deze hoop nogal wat hoekige stenen. De vogeltjes liggen er echt niet van wakker. Ronde of kantige stenen, deze hoop keien is een geliefd plekje voor ze. Met velen zijn ze, en het is hier een heen en weer gefladder van jewelste.
Intussen ben ik zover gekomen dat ik denk te weten dat het tapuiten zijn, Steinschmätzer in het Duits, maar echt helemaal zeker ben ik er niet van.
Normal sind die Findlinge in der Lüneburger Heide schön abgerundet. Im Gegensatz zum normalen sind diese Steinen auf dieser häufen durchaus etwas eckiger. Runde oder eckige Steine, die Vögel macht’s gar nichts aus. Der häufen Felsbrocken ist ein beliebter Ort für sie. Mit vielen sind sie die hier herum flattern. Ein wahrer Genuß für daß Auge. Aber wass für ein Vogelart es sind, dar habe ich keine ahnung?
Mittlerweile bin ich soweit gekommen mit meine suche nach der vogelart das ich denke das es sich Steinschmätzer sind. Aber 100% sicher bin ich nicht davon.
