Aussi, j'encourage mes amis de Sceaux et tous ceux qui, comme moi, ont une passion pour l'Art Nouveau, à manifester leur soutien auprès des services de la mairie chargés du patrimoine. Plus il y aura de monde, plus les choses auront des chances d'aboutir. C'est ainsi qu'a été sauvé le Castel Béranger, ainsi que la maison Cauchie à Bruxelles.

In her concluding comments at this year’s UBCM conference, Premier Christy Clark announced that B.C. will be moving forward with a bridge to replace the Massey Tunnel and that there will be infrastructure planning grants available for Northwest LNG communities.
The UBCM conference is a chance for local governments to engage with each other and the provincial government and an opportunity for local governments to meet face to face with provincial cabinet ministers. It allows for an exchange of ideas and best practices, all aimed at making B.C. a better place. - Alte Raths-Apotheke
Sinds 1294 wordt er in de stad Lüneburg gewag gemaakt van een apotheker. Apotheker Henricus bezit een huis aan het Cyriaks-Kirchhof. Na hem komen er door de jaren heen nog andere apothekers. In 1409 koopt Laurentius Lodowici een huis in der Grosse Bäckerstraße 5, en baat er zijn apotheek uit. Hij wordt er in 1437 opgevolgd door apotheker Mathias van der Most. De stadsraad van Lüneburg koopt in 1475 de apotheek, de apotheker wordt een beambte van de stadsraad. De originele verkoopsakten en de inventarislijst van de apotheek bevinden zich tot op heden in het stadsarchief. In 1524 verhuisde de apotheek van de Grosse Bäckerstraße 5 naar nummer 9 waar ze zich tot op de dag van vandaag nog steeds bevindt. Onder leiding van de raads-apotheker Ulricus Luthmer wordt in 1598 het huidige gebouw voltooid. Het zandstenen portaal is van de hand van de meester Kohler. Van 1681 tot 1710 komt er een nieuwe apotheek aan de straat Auf dem Meere, 28. Ze kreeg de naam “Pest-Apotheke”. Sindsdien is voor de apotheek aan de Grosse Bäckerstrasse 9 de naam Alte Raths-Apotheke in gebruik. In de kelder van het huis werd in 1693 een koffiehuis ingericht. Vanaf 1827 kwam de apotheek in privé bezit van de familie Leppin. Sindsdien is ze tot 2000 achtereenvolgens uitgebaat geweest door de apothekers M. Müller, H. Engisch, G. Will, H. Hotze, und G. Wellsow. Vanaf 2000 wordt ze door de heer Thomas Heuer, Frau von Borstel en Frau Burgdorff uitgebaat.
- Alte Raths-Apotheke
Der erste Apotheker in die Stadt Lüneburg wird erwähnt 1294. Am Cyriaks-Kirchhof besitzt Apotheker Hinricus ein haus. Laurentius Ludowici kauft 1409 ein haus in der Grosse Bäckerstrasse 5. Ab 1437 treibt Apotheker Mathias van der Most hier seine Apotheke. 1475 kauft der Rat der Stadt Lüneburg die Apotheke. Der Raths-Apotheker ist Angestellter des Rates. Die Orginale des Kaufvertrages und des Inventurverzeichnisses sind im Archiv der Stadt. 1524 wird diese Apotheke in die Gr.Bäckerstr.9 verlegt, wo sie sich noch heute befindet. 1598 wird das heutige Bauwerk unter der Leitung des Raths-Apothekers Ulricus Luthmer vollendet. Das Sandsteinportal stammt von Meister Köhler. Ab 1681 bis 1710 gibt es Auf dem Meere 28 eine neue Raths-Apotheke, die sogenannte Pest-Apotheke. Seit dieser Zeit hat sich die Bezeichnung Alte Raths-Apotheke für den Betrieb in der Gr.Bäckerstr. 9 eingebürgert. 1693 wird im Keller eine Kaffeestube eingerichtet. 1827 geht die Apotheke in Privatbesitz über und ist bis 1910 in der Hand der Familie Leppin. Nachfolgend betreiben M. Müller, H. Engisch, G. Will, H. Hotze, und G. Wellsow die Apotheke. Seit 2000 sind Herr Thomas Heuer, Frau von Borstel und Frau Burgdorff die neuen Eigentümerder Alte raths-Apotheke.

In the late 1950's into the 1960's I was of the opine that H. Beam Piper was one of the better writers of science-fiction and was deeply saddened when I read that he committed suicide on November 6, 1964 at the age of 60. I moved on to other authors and literary interest but always retained my recollected admiration for the worlds Piper created that delighted my teen-age years.
Recently at one of the few remaining used paperback bookstores in Massachusetts I found several reprinted titles of his works. The book "Federation" was one of the volumes. I recalled from the story titles having read some of them when first published and eagerly began the book.
I regret to state that I was very disappointed. He ideas and writing style have not aged gracefully. In fact the stories in this collection read like the common space operas the populated the pulps in the 50-60's which in fact they were.
Unfortunate we will never know if Mr. Piper could of developed at a writer, alas today he is a slowly forgotten footnote in the history of science-fiction and none of his titles have been reprinted for mass circulation in many years.
It is a credit to the perseverance to document his works and admiration for Piper that Jerry Pournelle and John F. Carr and others keep his name from science-fiction oblivion. Piper's life story, what little is known about this reclusive man, would I believe make for an very interesting biography.

On the stop sign at the corner of Sadie Foss Rd. and Max Gray rd. Vermont and Texas are the only two states that were Republics before they joined the Union. There is a move in Vermont towards a Second Republic, but it hasn't gained much momentum. My step father, a Texan, says that Texas can leave the Union anytime it wants as a result of an agreement made when it became a state.

Saturday night was an indie night at Humber social.
We went out for an amazing breakfast at Piccolo restaurant, outstanding quality.
On the evening we went for a drink in the Scale and Feather, then a delicious meal at Hitchcock's vegetarian restaurant with my dear friend Andrew, followed by the indie night at social. A cracking evening!

For the Saturday night we had a brilliant night at Humber Social for their 80s night Elerctric Dreams. We danced the whole night!
Also I bumped into an old friend I hadn't seen in years!

So I decieded to try and keep my fstop at 1.4 and just boost up the iso from 100-1600 b/c it was really dark outside and I couldn't use my strobes. Yeah, bad idea! lol So much noise, it's so sad cause I loved the compostion of all the pictures I took as well as the colour but the quality got destroyed :/ Oh well, we live and and we learn :)
