Dizzy, despite her disability, is such a strong little character and I'm proud of her, so I wanted to share this little story. A large black and white male cat has recently moved in 3 doors away from me and he was quickly making a nuisance of himself by coming into the house and stealing my girls' food. I bought a cat flap that recognises microchips and things have been much better since, but every now and again the new cat still comes into the garden. The other night he must have been just outside because little Dizzy charged out through the cat flap and confronted him. She was growling at him and then suddenly launched herself at him and they did a big somersault, paws wrapped round each other. By the time we opened the conservatory door he ran off, but Dizzy was dripping blood on the paving slabs. We were horrified! How dare anyone touch Dizzy (even if she started it)?!! Luckily he'd used claws and not teeth and she's absolutely fine. She was a bit rattled for an hour or so, but she seems to have forgotten about it now. I'm hoping it's taught the intruder a lesson, but I'm keeping my eye on the situation.

Technical trivia

A digital image was scanned with an epson scanner, with the white, black, and grey points being manually selected. The resulting color cast was not corrected. The digital image was rotated until level (arbitrary) and the borders were cropped. Subsequent image rotations (Left -0.2), scaling (Left = 99.5%), alignment, color correction (auto color correction based on right frame) and animated gif generation done with StereoPhotoMaker, a freeware program by Masuji Suto & David Sykes.

I went for a weekend visiting Gemma in Derby.

Satuerday night we went out for a few drinks in Derby. First at the Crown where we met w couple of other trans ladies, then around the corner to Suds and Sodas.

In there we met a load of Gemma's friends from the beer festivals. Lovely random encounter!

Plus, I had a beer! My first since 2012! Although it was a non-alcoholic, grapferuit flavoured beer, ha ha. I still don't drink alcohol.

Quince Blossoms, 1878, oil on canvas, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond, Virginia. The painting shows quince blossoms in a large Italian earthenware pot next to a Japanese fan with goldfish. Also shown are two Chinese bowls. The textile is Near Eastern. This combination of multi-cultural elements is characteristic of the decorative effects employed by follows of the aesthetic movement where the art was to have no purpose except Art for Art’s Sake.

Charles Caryl Coleman (1840-1928) was an expatriate American artist who called the island of Capri his home for close to 60 years. He was born in Buffalo, and studied art there and in Paris under Thomas Couture between 1859 and 1862. He returned to the United States, serving in the 100th Regiment of the New York Volunteers in the Civil War; shot in the jaw, he was discharged in 1863. By 1866 he was in Rome; in 1870 he converted a former convent into his villa (Villa Narcissus), which became a center for other expatriates and followers of the aesthetic movement. “In 1910, in the latter part of his life, Coleman fell ill and was not expected to live; yet, he did and carried on for almost another two decades, playing the role of the eccentric artist, presenting himself in outlandish dress to house-guests, throwing parties and generally having a good time right to the end. He is buried on Capri.” [ ac-support.europe.umuc.edu/~jmatthew/naples/coleman.html ]

He did close to 300 paintings in a variety of styles and a variety of genre covering portraits, still lifes, landscapes, and works depicting classical architectural elements. His landscapes featured the scenery around the Bay of Naples, including a series on the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius, The still lifes depicted decorative elements, an amalgam of items from numerous cultures, often with a touch of the exotic and Oriental. He crafted art frames and the one used for his friend Elihu Vedder’s “Cup of Death” is attributed to him [see www.flickr.com/photos/universalpops/6816949790/ ]. He also did the frame for this image, Quince Blossoms, but I foolishly neglected to include it in the photo. Coleman did some murals for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition and some designs for the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in New York for Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company.

l'oubli, quelque chose d’immortel.

- Personnage parlant

- Tout terrain sec (intérieur/extérieur, asphalte, pelouse, etc)

- Tout public

- Déambulatoire ou fixe, adaptable à tout événement

- Dimensions : 2.6 m de haut, 1.2 m d’envergure

-------------------------------------------

n'importe quel air populaire.

This is the kind of thing I might think, but going to the bother of printing stickers takes it to a whole new level!

9th July 2020 update: The cost of reinstating East Princes Street Gardens after the Christmas market was more than £150,000, three times higher than previous years. It transpired Underbelly did not actually have planning permission for the 2019 market. Underbelly paid the council in full for the repairs. The council paid an additional £40,000 for improved drainage work.

Wednesday 17th June. There was widespread expectation First Minister Nicola Sturgeon would announce a move to phase two of lockdown on Thursday 18th June and give indicative dates for further easing of lockdown.

In phase two the virus is controlled but remains; R is consistently below 1 and WHO conditions are met. Physical distancing would still be required.

Phase two includes: People meeting in larger groups; workers being allowed to return to construction sites; opening playgrounds; small shops selling non-essential goods reopening (but not shopping malls); outdoor beer gardens but not indoor areas of pubs.

"Ms Sturgeon has previously stressed that not all of the changes will happen overnight, and it might not be until "the coming weeks" that some are in place."

Cristal leads a very hard daily life. Abandoned and left with more responsibility than one should ever have to handle she indulges herself in a simple escape so that just for a moment she can really mean that smile that is always on her face.

Iv never done a shoot like this before but Im so thankful for these 3 lovely people for breaking down for me. Please view the other photos from this very emotional series.
