....from a walk through Oxley Creek Common. Oxley Creek Common is home to a remarkable variety of birds. An experienced observer can find as many as 70 species in one hour of observation during the spring about 10% of all Australia's bird species and several times the diversity one could find walking the suburbs. In the past eleven years over 190 species have been recorded on the Common. (Source: University of Queensland)
Mistletoebird in a Broad-leaved pepper tree which is a declared Class 3 pest in Australia, as it is a native of Brazil.
Scientific Name: Dicaeum hirundinaceum
Description: The small Mistletoebird is the only Australian representative of the flowerpecker family, Dicaeidae, and is also known as the Australian Flowerpecker. Males have a glossy blue-black head, wings and upperparts, a bright red throat and chest, a white belly with a central dark streak and a bright red undertail. Females are grey above, white below, with a grey streak on the belly, and a paler red undertail. Young birds resemble females but are paler and have an orange, rather than dark, bill. These birds are swift and erratic fliers, moving singly or in pairs, usually high in or above the canopy. In cold weather, the Mistletoebird can undergo torpor, which is the slowing down of bodily functions to conserve energy.
Similar species: Male Mistletoebirds may superficially resemble Red-headed Honeyeaters or Scarlet Honeyeaters in having a red and black colouring, but these two honeyeaters have red heads, while the Mistletoebird has a black head, lacks their long, curved bills, while also being stockier and smaller overall. Mistletoebirds may also be distinguished from the red robins (Petroica species) by having a much shorter tail, a totally dark head (no contrasting cap or spot) and a red undertail.
Distribution: The Mistletoebird is found throughout mainland Australia. It is also found in Papua New Guinea and eastern Indonesia.
Habitat: The Mistletoebird is found wherever mistletoe grows and is important in the dispersal of this plant species.
Seasonal movements: Nomadic out of breeding season.
Feeding: The Mistletoebird is highly adapted to its diet of mistletoe berries. It lacks the muscular gizzard (food-grinding organ) of other birds, instead having a simple digestive system through which the berries pass quickly, digesting the fleshy outer parts and excreting the sticky seeds onto branches. The seed can then germinate quickly into a new plant. In this way, the Mistletoebird ensures a constant supply of its main food. It will also catch insects, mainly to provide food for its young.
Breeding: The Mistletoebird builds a silky, pear-shaped nest with a slit-like entrance, made from matted plant down and spider web, which is suspended from a twig in the outer foliage of a tree. The female alone builds the nest and incubates the eggs, while both sexes feed the young.
Calls: Very high-pitched single note; also repeated three-note song, warbles and some mimicry.
Minimum Size: 10cm
Maximum Size: 11cm
Average size: 10cm
Average weight: 9g
Breeding season: September to March
Clutch Size: 3
Nestling Period: 15 days

today was glorious.
i slept very well, and awoke to no rain.
i went to target, and got some things for my interview.
then i headed out, very nervous.
i prayed about it, and i began to calm down a lot.
so when i finally got there, i had to wait, and see all the other girls that were auditioning. i just kept trying to block it all out.
and then i went in, and met the man named Billy.
and he told me i had the job. hahaha.
which never happens. but it did! and it was so scary! i had to read all these lines,
and he looked over a bunch of my pictures. but im in! im officially a model/actress!
eeeeep! i feel like im dreaming. haha. but yeah. thats how my day basically went.
and on august 26th is my shoot. and until then i have to take a bunch of classes and stuff. and once my portfolio is all up, then i get to go to the casting calls and go sees!
yayayayaya. i wish i had someone to be excited with. my parents are gone doing errands and work, and my brother could care less. haha. oh well. ill celebrate with myself.
after that me and my mum stopped at this lovely field.
i liked it because it was golden. and for the first time this summer, i feel golden too.

They are coming around fast now! Time for another visit the the gender clinic in Leeds, for my second voice coaching session, and also for another consultation with my lead professional, to make sure things are all going well. Which they are, I'm very happy to report.
Waiting for my voice coaching session.

What a fantastic weekend!
It had been a few months since Gemma was last in Hull (too long!) and for the second time this year (Birmingham in March was the first) we went to see Kinky Boots at the theatre
What an awesome show it was - again!
What made this time extra special was that my Mum was with us this time.
It was the first time my Mum (and my Dad, since he gave us a lift to the theatre) had met Gemma, and the first time they had met me in full glam.
After a brilliant show, we walked across town to The Star. The same night in Hull, Adam Ant was playing and our lovely friend Mike went to see him, so Mike came to meet us in The Star afterwards as well!
Pics from in The Star. We got on the website galleries a few times!
Thanks for your amazing comments my friends!
I hope that you enjoy the photo my friends!
Thanks so much for all of your support!!!!

You know, we wait long enough for things to start blooming and the world be pretty and just when everything looks gorgeous for a day or two, here comes a nasty storm that robs us of all of this beauty.. Yesterday the weather was foul, the wind gusting to 90km/h or so and the rain was pelting everything around. Most of the blossoms were blown off the trees and bushes.. My furniture was blown off my deck and half of my fence collapsed on one side. I'm sure there was more damage done in other parts of the city as well. Mind you, when the sunset came it was quite wonderful...

For the first time, I went for a weekend visit to Gemma's and we had a great time! We packed loads into a couple of days.
Saturday morning we were up early to go to Dovedale in the Peak District. What a stunningly beautiful place it is! So picturesque! I loved every minute.
Because it's a well known area of outstanding natural beauty, it gets busy early so we made sure we arrived as soon as the car park opened. That meant it was reasonably quiet walking outwards, but coming back there were so many people!
I showed the pictures to my Sister wjhen I got home and she loved them so much, she took her family there camping the very next weekend!
Here was the point we turned around and headed back to the car.

The Sheffield Beer And Cider Festival is something that Gemma always tries to attend and she had hotel bookings for that weekend, but unfortunately as with many things recently, the beer festival was cancelled. BUt we decided to have a Sheffield weekend just the same, and it was a brill time!
Saturday night was a fab night. We went back to Bungalows and Bears again (we like it in there) then found a great venue called the Green Room which we really enjoyed. From there, we went to Dempsey's nightclub in Sheffield's gay quarter and had a brilliant time, meeting people and dancing. Great music and we loved the venue, we'll definitely be heading back there!
After that we walked back to the hotel and took some pics in the libby where the lighting was good. And a couple who came out of the lifts wanted pics with us - the guy looked very much like Professor Brian Cox, ha ha! He loved my crushed velvet jacket.
Hotel selfies before going out.
Any comments and favs are very much appreciated

For several years, I was unable to post videos here for whatever reason. They just wouldn't upload, so I gave up until recently, when I attempted again and discovered success. So I'm now rolling out over some time here videos that have previously only been available on my YouTube channel.
Here is one of the most recent videos I've posted on YouTube, from my last fully en femme occasion on March 7, 2022. The video link had previously been shared as www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gmuAath68M&t=31s, and you're still welcome of course to go, view, and comment/like there. But I might as well take advantage of video uploading on flickr finally working for me here.
As described a little more in a relatively recent (4/22/22) Update posted in my Flickr profile (at flickr.com/people/99244229@N04/), I had my first opportunity to be fully en femme since before the pandemic. I've rolled out pics from this day, March 7, 2022, when I tried out a couple ensembles never before modeled. It was so great to finally re-engage myself as Grace again!
As usual, I really enjoy coordinating attractive/sexy/cute outfits, and this one features:
* an Orsuncer "ombre platinum blonde" 26"-long wavy wig with bangs and black roots, from amazon;
* Steve Madden black "Quinne" quilted-leather zip-up platform ultra-high-heel ankle booties, from DSW (an old purchase, but I'd never taken pics in them til now);
* a Forever 21 black/multicolor floral-print-mesh bodycon cami-strap minidress, with black-slip lining, a straight-cut neckline, a shirred bodice, and lettuce-hem;
* a Mangopop black square-neck long-sleeve snap-closure tanga-bottom cotton bodysuit, from amazon;
* a Taffeta Alley black PU-leather 2.76"-wide waist belt with double-prong buckle, and 8-row silver eyelets, from amazon;
* WeLoveColors black fishnet tights;
* a black neck scarf;
* a Betseyville black quilted-leather silver-hardware handbag, from JC Penney;
* Kiss imPRESS press-on french-tip fingernails, from Walmart;
* a silver/clear rhinestone-embellished lariat-design layered necklace with Y-front chain, from Forever 21; and
* silver/black bracelets, watch, rings, necklace, and hoop earrings.
More about this and other 2017-22 pics and videos has been written up in my profile or "About" page here on Flickr. It details some choices made for these 2017-22 pics and videos.
Let me know your thoughts... :-)
COMMENT IF YOU FAVE
I decide I wanted to make a new Batman figure since the one I made for the DC project is not great. This one and the figs following this one are inspired by 2 things. The DCAU suit primarily the suits worn in The New Batman Adventures as well as the Arkham games.
The legs have e-tape boots and the knee pads are painted. The underwear (overwear?) was something I went back and forth on but I decided I’d do it cause it’s just that iconic. The belt is made of of varies bits of paper, plastic and procreate as well as the LBM belt piece.
The torso has some sculpted muscles and I think these are much better that the other ones of the other Batman fig. The emblem is TNBA inspired and the bits on the sides are Arkham city inspired.
The arms have some e-tape gauntlets and some dry sculpted fins. It is one piece for the fins separated by painted lines.
The cowl was a 2012 cowl cut in half and the head was a head from the LBM line. The cape was a regular LEGO cape.
