=======================================================
The romanesque church of St. Cristofol is a beautiful example of XII Century art in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees.
The small village of Beget is surely one of the most beautiful in Catalonia, but it must be the most isolated! To get there, in the middle of forest-covered mountains, you must drive through 14 km of the narrowest of roads (and plenty of curves). Only 27 people live there all year, but tourism it's the main ocupation, so in holidays it could be crowded.
° ☆ . ° . 🎄✨🎄✨🎄✨🎄 . ° . ☆ °
How to add a little holiday magic ?
Step 1 : you need a cold winter day
Step 2 : a good cup of tea or cocoa
Step 3 : finally, choose a great Christmas book !!!

Latest fashion for all of us girls.
Was quite surprised to see this perfect half moon of water drops so nicely spaced out and the dainty one on the tips of her nose. She is a little beauty as well. second flowering for this one so she is rather special.

Art Tanja Ritterbex.

Saturday we went to the Feguson Fawsitt pub in Walkington for dinner. WE both went for the chicken and bacon pie. Wow, what a choice - that may well be the best pie I have ever tasted!
Than on the evening we went out on Prince's Avenue for a few drinks.

Saturday night in Lincoln was one of our best nights out there ever. We had such a great time, lots of interaction with other people.
We started out at the Skylight Bar in the Doubletree hotel on Brayford Wharf then went on to Popworld, which was a Fever Boutique last time we were there.
At Popworld we met the wonderful Ashliegh who was just great company all night! And we had a dance on the light-up dance floor too. A brill night all round!
At the Sylight Bar in the Doubletree. These seats had a wonderful view out over Lincoln.
Many thanks for the likes/comments in advance.
The European goldfinch or simply the goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis), is a small passerine bird in the finch family that is native to Europe, North Africa and western and central Asia. It has been introduced to other areas, including Australia, New Zealand and Uruguay.
The breeding male has a red face with black markings around the eyes, and a black-and-white head. The back and flanks are buff or chestnut brown. The black wings have a broad yellow bar. The tail is black and the rump is white. Males and females are very similar, but females have a slightly smaller red area on the face.
The goldfinch is often depicted in Italian renaissance paintings of the Madonna and Child.

We had our annual September visit to Newcastle and had an amazing time once again! I just love that city, the people are so friendly and welcoming.
Day 2 we went for food at TGIs then on to Sgt Peppers and finally ended up in Rusty's where we met loads of lovely people as we always seem to do.
Meeting up with lovely people.

I had to go for an appointment in London with the surgeon who will be performing my upcoming surgery.
While I was down there I met up with the wonderful Sarah Fey who took me out on the Monday evening.
We had an amazing time! We went to a basemant bar called the Friendly Society then on for something to eat, then we went to the Soho Theatre and went to see a stand-up comedy show.
I had an amazing time - the best time by far I have ever spent in London!
And the consultation went great too - it's looking like next March for my surgery! :-D
After the comedy show, in the bar at the Soho Theatre.

Here are the upper falls in BW as suggested in the comments for the previous color version. Same 5 shot pano. In the PSE 11 BW conversion I increased the contrast and blue filter to pop the white of the ice. Also, some vertical distortion correction and a closer vertical crop to emphasize the falls.

I have photographed this scene many years ago, but wanted to reshoot it with a hi-rez camera. I processed this one a bit different from my norm...

We were in Leeds a day early for Leeds First Friday weekend. We went to see a comedy night at Leeds Library on the Thursday night.
First we had tea at Pieminister and unexpectedly there was a power cut while we were there. This meant the tills stopped working and so we got our meal for free! :-)
The comedy night was hosted by the very funny Chris Lumb of Shoe Cake Comedy, we had 3 great stand-ups to see - Brennan Reece, Seeta Wrilghtson and Ben Norris, all of them hilarious!
Gemma and I did a very brave thing, and quite deliberately. We sat right at the front where comedians will often pick people out! Although I suspect it's more difficult ground for a comedian to pick on a trans girl. And as it turned out, none of the comedians did pick on us, though they did pick on plenty of others in the audience, ha ha! It was a good test of our self-confidence doing that, and I really enjoyed the whole experience.
Afterwards we went for a drink in Queens Court before heading back to the hotel.
Queens Court after the show.

All these colors: Red, green, blue, the whole rainbow!
How this works: Put a CD or a CD-R on a flat surface, spread droplets of water onto the surface, and shine a natural LED light on the CD from a shallow angle. I used a folded wet paper tissue to drop water in a controlled way. I took three bracketed exposures and combined them into a natural HDR photo.
Where do the colors come from? White light is actually composed of colors that may span the whole range of rainbow colors. CDs have very thin layers, not unlike a thin layer of oil on water. When you shine white light on a CD, light is reflected on the surface and also at a layer below the surface. The reflected light is therefore partly from the surface, partly from a layer below the surface. Light has wave properties, one of which is interference - the cancellation or amplification of waves. Interference happens if the distance between the reflecting surfaces is comparable to the wavelength of the light. Waves reflected at different layers can amplify each other, or cancel each other out. That amplification or cancellation depends on the wavelength, in other words the color of the light. At any location of the CD, some colors are cancelled (not there), and others are amplified. That is why you see different colors across the CD.

A few have commented about how much I covered on our recent "family" trip to Big Sky Country. A couple of reasons are pictured here. Good weather for most of the week. And it's pretty easy to relocate when things go awry when you can go 80+!!! Even 70 on the two lanes is nice. Plus not a lot of A-holes in the way. And if they are you can just blow their doors off as there is normally plenty of room to go around..And if in the market for a used car, do not buy a black 2018 Mazda 6 from one of the large car rental companies!
Plus this was Margo and I's first vacation without the kids so there was more trackside time than in the past.
