Between the pictures from this summer I thought it would be nice to share an image to mentally cool down. Every photographer has this magical moment once in a while, be it a stunning sunset, a magical glow in the forest or like this one a special encounter with wild life. We were driving through the amazing national park Yellowstone early in the morning through the fog when a herd of buffalo crossed a serieus river in the cold. I was amazed by their courage and rushed out to take some shots. It is a while ago but I believe this one closed the pack. Have a very nice (bit more chilled) weekend and many thanks in advance for your kind visit.
Not sure how this road got its name but the sign has been true for a couple of weeks now! Last Friday we had a snow squall pass through the area. Tonight into tomorrow we are experiencing an ice storm with some light snow passing through Friday. I know a lot of the US is experiencing winter weather this weekend. I hope everyone is staying safe and warm!
Cold Friday Road
Corydon, Indiana
The warm tones of the rising sun contrast with the cold frozen beach. Another cold sunrise this morning.
More cold stuff from me! This picture was taken 2 winters ago. Sometimes farmers seem to forget where they left things in summer.
Can we capture that feeling? The warmth of the sun in the cold winter air...
Thanks for looking... :)

The RV Sikuliaq is an American research vessel owned by the National Science Foundation and operated by the University of Alaska Fairbanks School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences. Built in 2014 by Marinette Marine Corporation in Marinette, Wisconsin, the $200 million versel named after the Iñupiaq word for "young sea ice" and pronounced "see-KOO-lee-auk", will be homeported in Seward, Alaska.
After a last farewell, he left on his bicycle in the late setting sun of afternoon on that cold and blustery winter day. The snow that had melted and then froze to ice showed reflections on the road, but remained intact in the heaped mounds on the sides. Some of the stark trees in the park still showed the withered remains of Fall leaves. It was just another day of winter in Montreal! I then wondered, would I ever see my dear friend again?
I did in 2017 an I hope that I will again sometime this year of 2018 or 2019.! Dear friends must never be forgotten!
A picture from the archive.
We had a snow today. Quite surprising and feels really cold. Nature says - be ready for the winter soon.
Thank you for all the comments and favs, my friends.
Cold, cold desaturation of brain, it's dancing in the mists, dark trees are watching you in your desolation and whisper mad poems of those unheard and forgotten. Then you wake up with feeling of something is missing. The dream showed you the beautiful and the terrifying and then took it from you. Yes, all this is in your head indeed, but not under your control, yet...

I have photographed this old barn several times. I think it catches my eye because of the iconic rural architecture and the fact that it seems to sit al by itself out in the middle of nowhere. I suspect at one time several other farm buildings surrounded it.
