A silent morning in rural Southwestern Ontario where the cold settles in and time feels paused.
"Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments below"
This was taken on one of those very cold, very windy days we had here in Iowa back in December. Despite hugging the tree this little fellow was having a bad hair day.

Stone cold, stone cold
You see me standing, but I'm dying
on the floor
Stone cold, stone cold
Maybe if I don't cry I won't feel anymore
I just can't resist photographing the Moon when it's full — especially when it's this stunning. Snapped this handheld last night with my Nikon D780 and the 200-500mm f/5.6 zoom lens paired with a 1.4x teleconverter. The VR did its magic, and the sky was crystal clear. Turns out it was the Cold Supermoon — the biggest and brightest full moon of the year. No tripod, no fuss, just a quiet moment under the stars.
just moments before this shot I was very unlucky and fell through some ice which I kept sinking into when I was trying to get out,but having great friends and company they all helped and got me out.I was soaked and freezing. Fortunately for me they all managed between them to give me dry clothes and warmed me up enough so that I could carry on with our fantastic day out
Oh, don't think it's snowing here! We had +12° and a lot of rain today. I was able to walk around at home in a t-shirt and no socks and wait for the rain to stop. Unfortunately, the word for my festive mood isn't in my English dictionary. Can you guess? ;-) I'm more in the Easter egg mood, ha ha ho ho! Unfortunately it's an older photo, sorry!
I wish everyone a peaceful and blessed Christmas!
Thanks for looking, I really appreciate it!
This may be a common sight in northern climes, but this is not supposed to happen at latitude 27.8N. This is my garden shed after a night of freezing rain and sleet, and a low temperature of 17F (-8.3C).
Phragmites australis, or common reed.
It is a tall perennial wetland grass and one of the most widely distributed flowering plants on Earth.
A Cold Morning
Still continuing with the images from Nenthead near Alston in Cumbria. One of those mornings where you could point the camera anywhere and get a shot;)
A truly beautiful day to be plodding around in the snow;)
