Copra, or dried coconut is an important industry in the West Indies. Coconuts are grown in tropical climates such as the Rainforests of Saint Lucia. They are dried than the copra, or dried coconut is pressed into oil. Coconut can be dried in one day in a copra oven whereas it would take about 3 days to air dry in this humid climate possibly getting moldy. The oven burns mostly coconut husks along with some wood. Print size 8x10 inches.

This is a very small cake (maybe 6 inches?) that I split in half I put coconut buttercream (using DF margarine) frosting, a row of blackberries and filled it with (DF) chocolate cream. On top I put date sugar marzipan, chocolate buttercream (just to hold the blackberries) and fresh blackberries standing vigil. OMG YUM!* This cake is GF and DF.

A couple of weeks ago I was telling a friend of mine about this Coconut Oil and how much I liked it.

I had used it and eaten it for a long time but hadn't been able to get it at our local Whole Food store for a couple of years. So I found it online and ordered it! It was delivered 3 days ago.

I had forgotten how wonderful it is, not only for the skin, face, hands and legs - but also for digestion, for the bones, and for easier movement of just about everything in the body!! I grew up where people drink coconut water from real coconuts all the time, so I love the flavor, it is raw and pure.

So glad that it is available online... this is one of those times when I'm really glad there is an internet.

Containing moorland spring water, olive oil, coconut oil, manuka honey, beeswax and French lavender essential oil.

The process of making handmade soap is a great distraction from the happenings in the world. It's also very kind and gentle on the skin, and Manuka Honey is said to have very high anti-bacterial properties.

I hope that all of my flickr friends remain safe and healthy.

Hugs to all.

Crazy Fruity Handmade Soap

This soap is so much fun you will have to get the smile surgically removed from your face! It's a banana base loaded with fruit polka dots! Raspberry, Apricot, Lime, Kumquat, Coconut, Cucumber Melon, Apple, Lemon, Watermelon… It's a beautiful and crazy bar of soap, and it's moisturizing too! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :-)

You will receive one bar of appoximately 4+ ounces.

It's good to let your soap air out between uses for a longer lasting bar. Store your handmade soaps in a cool dry place letting them breathe. I cut mine in quarters to make them last longer :-) and this way I can use a different soap everyday - yay me!

Hand crafted soaps are so good for your skin. No added chemicals and all the natural glycerin is retained. I'll never go back to buying store bought chemically infiltrated soaps.

Allergies? Please read the listed ingredients. Thank you.

We had to shelter behind the BMW as a very cold wind was whipping up the dust and heavy cloud cover above sent the temperature plummeting.

The horses were reluctant to pass the bike as they had not seen anything like it before. The riders had to take them up the slope and well away from us in order to pass by.

My new favorite scones - they are easy to make, and taste more like dessert than breakfast food...the recipe is on the blog.
