After yesterday's 12-inch snowfall and shoveling mountains of snow, I have my mind on summer sunsets! Of course, when I took this one at Goose Island Park, I seem to recall, to paraphrase the late, great Carl Sagen, Billions and Billions of mosquitoes!
Heralding a promised Indian Summer - sunset over the South Downs was certainly a fiery affair tonight.

This beautiful sunset was taken a couple of years ago but I don't think it can be beat for the vibrant color.
Looking southward into the North Atlantic from Stórhöfði, the southern-most tip of Heimaey (home island) in the Vestmannaeyjar Islands. South Iceland.
