The sun is slowly sliding toward the horizon as we head down the hillside back to the car after a wonderful day snowshoeing. We made it back to the car just before darkness.

Little bit of stormy weather here the other day. Walked outside to see what was about and there was a small patch of mammatus cloud with the sun right behind it.
Mammatus are caused by sinking air but don't necessarily mean a thunderstorm is immanent.
Took a couple of quick pics with the GRIII before the heavens opened.
There's a small bird or flying insect at 9 o'clock for scale but I like that weird negative vibe.
