"The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain..." ~ Dolly Parton
Yep, sometimes I stop driving and shoot rainstorms... Especially during monster monsoon season in New Mexico. This massive storm developed above Santa Fe and was captured looking north atop a cross-bridge on Interstate 40, somewhere west of Santa Rosa, New Mexico. From our archives, August, 2011. Ain't she a beauty?

Mira que he visto mis fotos de Irlanda veces y veces. Pues nunca me canso de ellas y siempre encuentro alguna en la que me había fijado menos
Photographed over the backwaters of the Mississippi River from Goose Island Park, La Crosse County, Wisconsin.
Still no snow here. Now that family is safely back home, I am ready for some. (Can you tell I'm an old retired guy who doesn't have to drive to work or go anywhere if I don't feel like it?)
After watching some awesome weather passing overhead in the late afternoon I decided to take a trip to Millendreath to catch the sunset, of course the sunset never materialised so I instead took a few long exposures to test how the GX8s sensor coped. Having less noise in long exposure shots was one of my main reasons for upgrading from the GX7, and I'm glad that the GX8 does show a marked improvement in this area!
Parecido a otras fotos mías. El sol a traves de un árbol para no tener reflejos y además unas bonitas sombras.
Es el amanecer del dia 1 de enero de 2019
It is probably obvious that the thing that persuaded me out last night was the dramatic, cloudy sky.
This farm belonged to a long-time friend who unfortunately for me passed away a few months ago. His children have given me permission to photograph this old red barn that his grandad built, and as I walked back I could imagine the many times he returned from the fields after a long, cold autumn day of harvesting. And in fact, in his later years, I would sometimes pick him up and drive out on this very field lane to watch the combine traveling through the fields.
