Each morning, the Sherpa arises at the ungodly hour of just after 5 am and takes Harpo on an hour long walk.
He often takes sunrise images for me, making me feel bad for never joining him. He took this image by the lake this morning and I added an effect.
We have had some crazy, wild weather across Victoria. Severe thunderstorms and 1000s of lightening strikes, heavy rainfalls that have led to flash flooding with more to come this afternoon.
The humidity is Blahh.
Last night as I stood under our half built pergola, the sky was almost continuously alight with sheet and bolt lightening. I am both terrified and excited by storms. Unfortunately the terror was such that I wasn't game to try to take photos.
The sky took on a dramatic look the other night as I took this slight patch of sunset colour while facing due east! The western sky was actually dull and grey.
Taken from either end of the north pier, or Radcliffe Quay, at Amble.
Traditional Northumbrian fishing vessels known as cobles have taken shelter in Amble’s natural harbour for centuries and in 1988 a new fish dock was opened for the three seine netters and approximately 20 cobles still working. As a result of this a fishing fleet still works out of Amble.
Warkworth Harbour still has two main quays - Broomhill Quay is the busy main quay where the fishing boats are moored whereas the Radcliffe Quay, beyond the fishdock, is much quieter. Funded by English Partnerships, Amble Pier and Breakwater was completely refurbished and the work was completed early in 2000.
The Breakwater and Pier were officially re-opened by Jack Charlton on 21 May 2000. Unfortunately a part of the harbour wall on the Broomhill Quay suffered a partial collapsed in the late summer of 2008 due to massive flooding which left many areas of Northumberland badly damaged. It reopened after repairs in August 2013.
Photographed at the Shady Maple overlook along the Mississippi River in northwestern Vernon County, Wisconsin.
One more picture before the new year.
This one was taken at exactly the same place as the previous picture as it was on a tripod. The difference between the two is that this one is at a faster shutter speed and also the light and the clouds have changed which gives it a far more dramatic look. I think out of the two pictures this is my favourite as I love the detail and the colour as they are so more intense. I hope you all like what you see.

Looking south into the North Atlantic from near the lighthouse at Stórhöfði on Heimaey in the Vestmannaeyjar Islands, Iceland. The rocks, islands and islets in the frame (L to R) Geldungur, Súnlnasker, Hellisey and Suðurey islands.
The magical Surtsey at right of Suðurey appeared in 1963 following a four year undersea eruption. Surtsey is now an internationally recognised site of scientific significance - botanists and zoologists have been studying the flora and fauna on Surtsey since it was cool enough to set a sterile foot on. The species that colonise Surtsey and the associated timeline give many insights into the evolution of life on Earth.
This frame is a completely new edit from one posted years ago - was never happy with it back then.

A dramatic sky for a while today over mostly empty farm land. Although there is some early tilling and fertilizer application taking place, the real busy planting season is still a few weeks away.
A golden moment - Mesa Arch ~ The sun has risen above the La Sal and it's glow reflects upward from the rusty cliffs below the arch. Island in the Sky, Canyonlands National Park, Utah

Shot of the north of Spain through the plane window.
Another sunrise from my favourite riverside cabin in Mannum on the Murray River. The sun, cloud and fog all combined with the birds, reflections, dead trees and reeds in endless combinations for some wonderfully moody and atmospheric scenes.
Happy Nice Wonderful Clouds Tuesday!
Shot a few panos as the storm approached .. kinda like the vibe on this one .. for now.
