This is the last of my images from a recent quite fruitful trip to North Yorkshire, same day, different tree..
Spotted this one located in a hillside amongst the (what I presume) are glacial erratic boulders, I wanted the try and shoot this and include the snow covered Ingleborough if possible, which is what you see here.
Again another black and white image, although the colour version is nice enough removing it for me just adds to the stark feel of the lone tree without it's leaves taking everything the weather can throw at it year after year. Somehow always holding on.
It was really cold for mid April, below freezing. Since the tide and cloud data was looking good I decided to travel north to hit this spot. Caught some clouds and it ended up working out.

Clouds sweep over the Hermitage of Our Lady of Peace, atop the homonymous mountain in Vila Franca do Campo. It was originally built in 1764, on top of an even earlier temple, erected possibly in the 16th century, at the site where according to tradition shepherds found an image of the Virgin in a cave. The current temple was reconstructed during the 18th century and has been classified as Property of Public Interest by the Regional Government of the Azores since 1991.
The Towanroath Cornish engine house on the cliffs above the beach at Chapel Porth.
The clouds were racing past that afternoon, so I used a 30second exposure to capture the movement.

I shot this photo while attending the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia National Conference in Canberra.
As soon as I landed in Canberra it looked like it would be a fantastic sunset so I got a taxi to my hotel and dumped my bags straight away. I grabbed my camera gear and started walking to Parliament House. The taxi driver told me my hotel was really close and it was only a 15 minute walk......after walking for 35 minutes I finally got there. I had missed a pretty good sunset with some rays and some nice pink/orange clouds. Anyway there was still some nice cloud movement around and I was able to capture this shot. I didn't stay around for too long...I only shot about a dozen frames and then left.

This is from the alley behind my building in the Brighton Neighborhood of Boston. I’ve been sitting on this one for a long time. This was from the days before I started using the LEE filter system.

Another day off, another completely dry day, it's been a while....! spent a few hours along the shore of Coniston, not many people about today at all allowing for some good time spent relaxing and shooting without disturbance, just a gentle breeze about today with generally good conditions. The lack of service boats at this time of year is another bonus if you are out shooting, the steamer passed once which was great to watch and comes nowhere near the jetty.

It was a really good cloud day, so I grabbed this one as a bonus on the way back to my car.

view on the Royal Theatre Carre of Amsterdam & the Sluice. In the centre you see a lighthouse which is one of the sights of the Amsterdam Light Festival 2014. Alot of photos are combined to create this image. The reason is that there more boats sailing in the water than usual. So I had too many light trails. These 2 i like most so i maintained these lights in my image
There are four of these little photogenic piers dotted around the Glencoe Lochan. I think the primary purpose of these is to act as a platform for fishermen and to allow wheelchair access (the lochan is well stocked with trout from what I gather). Fantastic place for a walk, great location for a photograph as well! (I think this spot could be worth a revisit in the autumn when the colours are beginning to turn).
My comrade Ally also got a very nice photograph from this very spot, a few minutes apart.
Massive thanks to www.flickr.com/photos/steve-t201/ for letting me know about a couple of lonely trees during a chance meeting at Dorket Head last December, and also for kindly sending me the location details, its certain that i'll make many more return visits. Sony A7Mll/70-200mm.

Got really lucky with the timing of this shot, took advantage of the only break in the clouds I saw all day.

First day back at work after the xmas break today so cheered myself up with a detour on route home tonight to the Forth Bridges. Terrible wind made for some cloud movement.
This shot was taken on a 15 day road trip around New Zealand in February. This shot has grown on me over the last few months so thought it was worthy to share.

Some kind of See Sign (looks a bit after a birdscage?), as far as I know it holds a weatherstation plus a peak meter for the waterlevel. This one is from today while shooting on the Lotseninsel at the mouth of the Schlei / Schleimünde. Took the ferry while the weather was just great, perfect sky for long exposure, dry (almost) and promising. Once there the weather changed rapidly from heavy rain showers into exploding thunderstorms, back to sun and it was very windy. Wind was offshore and so the cloudmovement. Therefor the water very quiet, although the tide was pretty low. With westerly winds the Baltic Sea here simply runs dry.
I got all wet quite some times. For one time I had to seek shelter in the WC, really had to run with all my rig geared up and while hurrying I lost the Lee Foundation Kit completely with Big Stopper and ND grad plus the Adapterring, which somehow detached (guess I simply screwed it on the wrong way :P. Luckily I could easily find it when I headed back after the storm, laying somewhere in the sand, phew!! :)

The Roll of Honour at the Embankment in Nottingham. Wanted to try and photograph it at night, was a bit of a challenge to balance the highlights so had to result to a HDR. Quite happy with how it turned out, highlights could be better but I'm still pleased.

I was down in Providence for work and was able to make it out to this spot early in the afternoon. I set up on this bridge and the traffic over it was never ending, bouncing the bridge all over the place. I decided to compromise on cloud movement and dial in a 30 second exposure, and after waiting quite some time I was able to get one in without traffic crossing the bridge. Big thanks to BSwope for the heads up on the spot.

Hallgrímskirkja in Reykjavic at 244ft tall is the largest church in Iceland and one of the largest buildings in the entire country, even for a very laid back country it's quite amazing that it took a rather pedestrian 41 years to complete!
This was shot just prior to dawn, there was some great heavy cloud movement this morning so ideal for a long exposure, only needing to use the little stopper at this time of day to give well over a minute of exposure time, even at the widest end of my wide angle lens and from a low perspective was it possible to get the full height of the building in, it's that big. Soon after this the useful dark clouds emptied their wares and it didn't stop raining for a good while, this would turn out to be the only morning of the trip I was able to get this shot so well worth getting out of bed on that occasion. Gone for a square format in mono as I think it suits the subject well, colour wasn't really bringing anything to the table with this shot.
