Thanks very much for viewing :-)

The view across the old quarry towards Llanberis. The lit up part near the foreground is the hydro-electric power station. Taken just in the last light after the sun had gone down. Looks a steep drop but I was stood behind the metal safety barrier!

Thanks very much for viewing. Have a good week.

A shot from a good few months back thought id give it a go and process it . Thanks for looking

Had a brilliant time in Dorset a couple of weeks ago. This photo sums up the trip really, great fun, but had to work hard to get photos!

Got up for 'sunrise', headed to Durdle Door, only to find that access is now restricted and difficult to park anywhere near, except on certain days when it's open at night for photographers. Instead headed to Kimmeridge Bay, only to find the tide was way too high and the winds just too strong. So ended up in Swanage as the next nearest place to go. Normally planning goes better than this!

It's been done brilliantly by loads of other photographers, but here's my version. Taken a little while after sunrise. Some nice cloud movement so decided to go for long exposure.

Thanks for viewing.

My last upload from my recent Lake district trip.

I thought I would finish with a long exposure shot of the iconic Castlerigg stone circle..

Roker beach this morning the water was really calm so got a strange reflection on the water and the sky went a weird pink colour.

Time stack at Hill of Towie windfarm on a stunning morning. I have been practicing using the time stack method that I use for startrail photography during the day to create interesting effects. This photo is made up of 427 Exposures stacked in Starstax. This was a re visit to Hill of Towie Windfarm, last time I was here I was doing daytime Single long exposures.

Constitution Gardens is a park area in Washington, D.C., United States, located within the boundaries of the National Mall. The 50-acre (200,000 m2) park is bounded on the west by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, on the east by 17th St NW, on the north by Constitution Avenue, and on the south by the Reflecting Pool. Constitution Gardens has a small pond, which contains the Memorial to the 56 Signers of the Declaration of Independence on an island open to pedestrians.

2 boats abandoned on the riverside

IV already posted this in mono and cropped but this is the colour version uncroped it show the autumn grass and dull skys. thanks for looking.

The staithe on the banks of the river wear used for loading coal on to ships when the pit was there.

One from a few weeks back on a night shoot down at the Embankment. Thought mono would work best for this classic shot of Trent Bridge.

Very long exposure at Cropston reservoir taken on Saturday morning. The big stopper certainly warmed the clouds up on a particularly cold morning.

Decided on a big stopper long exposure in this particular morning...very windy conditions meant reflections were not going to be the order of the day.

A shot from a few weeks back

Long exposure of a water fountain at night using Samyang 12mm f2 lens.

Stars are visible behind the cloud.

Long exposure sunrise at Bamburgh

A strong westerly wind was blowing over Langstone Harbour, Hampshire yesterday evening at sunset so no reflection around so decided to have a go at some long exposures over the old rotten posts which are the remains of the old Billy Line Station.

Quite like the effect in the sky from the long exposure which looks like it's been painted(badly)!

150 second exposure using a Lee "Big Stopper" 10 stop ND filter + a 0.9 ND grad over the sky.

Thanks for any comments you may wish to leave.

Another shot from yesterday with ivor miller.

This is the timestack that I shot at the "Once A Strong Scottish Home" photo. Yes indeed 700 photos merged into one to create this almost pastel / painted feel to the rolling clouds, as you would have seen in the HDR 3 shot bracketed version there was a lot of blue sky on display. Due to the amount of cloud movement throughout those 700 shots a lot of the blue was covered up by the passing clouds. A unique effect and definitely something different for my photography hobby. Im quite taken by the unique factor. I'm sure I will be experimenting more with this technique in the future, Im aware ideally you want the clouds to moving towards or away so that will be another project :-)

Had a drive up to keswick and ullswater yesterday for a family day out . I took my camera just in case but the weather was to good for photography to bright and sunny . I wanted it to be miserable and moody . Thanks for looking

Stacking of 5 frames. 30s, f/5, iso 100, 11mm. Nikon D5200 + Tokina 11-16. No ND filter.

One of the last photos I took before the lockdown. This followed much the same approach as I have since after the full lockdown ended, only visiting very quiet places at quiet times where it's easy to avoid people and touching things.

When I arrived the sky was fully covered by cloud. But just after sunrise, the clouds cleared a little and there was nice deep colour in the sky.

One from my usual haunt the other night, the recent rain had meant the trent was higher than usual, resulting in some nice reflections on the steps.

Dunnottar Castle, Nr Stonehaven on the East Coast of Scotland. Shooting this was a big one off the 'to do' list for me, I've tried to get up here before but have always been foiled by the weather, same last year when I couldn't even get to Scotland as it was that the entire rail system in Scotland had shut down! I'd hoped for a dry day or so to be able to get up here on this trip, luckily the first day upon arrival was pretty much perfect with some great early evening lighting, and not too windy either, which is always handy when you are perched on the edge of a cliff.....

Found a great little gem of a spot 5 minutes from my house recently. Great view of sunsets over the PA Turnpike in Pine Twp, Allegheny County, PA.

Will definitely be posting more photos from here, especially when I don't feel like driving anywhere for sunsets.
