We'd have been happy to see a few turtles during our stay, we figure we must have seen at least fifty over the eight days we were there.
Almost enough :)

Fall Break 2014: "Turtles & Lava"
October 31: Visiting a new (to us) national park; strolling a miniature Hawaii/theme park; preparing to leave the island.
A tiny soviet lens with the focal length of 50mm and a maximum aperture of f/3.5. Due to it's solid build quality, extremely low price and decent sharpness (especially on full frame cameras), it's a must have for any vintage lenses fan. Only problem it has is that it has a very unpractical filter size of 35,5mm. Don't expect to be mounting any modern filters here, unless you use gimmicky step-up rings.
This is the same blue and white bus a coupple of photos earlier in this photostream, from a closer perspective .
While Microbuses were popular with hippies, many of them were used as station wagons by staid suburbanites. A photo from one VW brochure showed teenage musicians loading their gear into a Microbus . . . and they look more like they're a junior auxiliary of the Lawrence Welk Orchestra than the Grateful Dead.
VW acknowledged and celebrated its hippie past when Jerry Garcia died. It ran an ad showing a drawing of a crying Bus with the caption, "Jerry Garcia, 1942-1995."
