Walking a trail at Kensington, two of these Sand Hill Cranes came strolling down the path, like any other pair of tourists. They stopped to say hello to the old guy with the camera and continued on their way. Kensington is their place and they are nice enough to tolerate the people.

Balance of July garden journal photos. The garden has been resplendent this year.
Very fragrant.
This plant is about 10 to 12 years old. Took a beating this last winter with a couple hard freezes but recovered well.
It loved the wet cool spring.
Trachelospermum jasminoides.
Taken after an unusual but welcome July rain.
