The first rain reminds me
Of the rising summer dust.
The rain doesn't remember the rain of yesteryear.
A year is a trained beast with no memories.
Soon you will again wear your harnesses,
Beautiful and embroidered, to hold
Sheer stockings: you
Mare and harnesser in one body.

I can't put to words how much this beautiful plant makes my days! The funny thing is I don't know who bought it for me!! I came home one day and it was sitting on my gate...just the bulb in the soil..it hadn't bloomed yet. I've had it for about 3 years now...it is so delightful.... I got up this morning and the sky is blue and the warm sunshine is shining in on my Amaryllis blossoms, backlighting the petals....I couldn't resist one more pic!!! The blossoms last a long time too!!! ♥ Notice the texture of the petals...:) Have a lovely weekend everyone! :)
Taken with sony zeiss 55mm + 26mm extension tubes.
I have to scout around a few times to find this little one hanging on a blade of grass.

These bears, Johnny, Eirleen, and Faith, are joining my teddy bear stories. All three bears are wearing my handmade clothes. I altered their sweaters. But, I did crochet their hats. And, all three bears have my favorite names, too.
Thanks for stopping by

I've been waiting and waiting for this thistle to bloom. I have one "volunteer" in my yard--it surprised me by growing near the area where I hang a bird feeder. But this weekend the thistle was knocked to the ground by a major thunderstorm. Now I'll have to prop it back up--it was over four feet tall. I took this shot the evening before the storm.
