This rover I wanted to build for a long time, now I am glad that is finally completed.

It's about 57 cm long.

Thanks to Fausto De Martini for inspiration.

Fission! One Atomium went to Stijn, and the other is still stationed in my bookcase.

I also made a high-speed construction video here on Flickr, and a construction walkthrough with commentary on YouTube at youtu.be/w1UFBmAib9A.

The X1 was my first Space set when I was a kid so naturally it would be the first build I would down size for Baby Space. 😁

This is just a bus. It has no guns, it does not transform, not even a smallest piece of science equipement. But it will surely get you to your space job!

I needed a quick build inbetween more "serious" ones where I end up placing about 10 bricks in one hour, working to get some shape right. This in turn was initially done in about 3 hours and then +1 hour on redesign and applying... a trick. Can you spot something unusual on this build?

After a lull in building, I was inspired by The Brick Artisan’s take on the Galaxy Explorer in his Space Calendar. This is my tribute to it.

Just a little MOC based around the idea for the tail.

The LL-596 Gungnir interceptor is designed to chase down and destroy priority targets. It does this with its heavy pulse cannon. For defense against other fighters, the Gungnir is also armed with two small turrets, sixteen missile tubes, and electronic countermeasures.

The Mobile Lab's crew consists of one captain (red), two explorer scouts (yellow), two miners/analysts (green), two engineers (gray), and two scientists (white).

---------THE IDEA----------------------------------

Have you ever wondered what lies beyond the horizon of all those treacherous dunes on Classic Space box art? Well, heck if I know -- BUT I can ask you a better question: how does one get there? CERTAINLY not with 6mm offset tread wheels mind you! Legend has it, as you progress deeper and deeper into the dunes, the sediment becomes darker and redder. Some believe this is because of a rich resource which lies deep beneath it, some say it leads to treasure, and others may warn that is home to the Insectoids... Personally I think its because I only had so many options to work with for backgrounds -- BUT the answer is up to you!

------------------------------------------------------------------THE CRAWLER------------------------------------------------------------------

Back to the big question, how does one cross those dunes? Well, the nerds over at Classic Space HQ (trans-green edition) have the answer! They came up with the legendary idea of slapping the biggest tires possible on the 6901 Mobile Lab, but then quickly realized the tire itself was far bigger than the lab, so they had to resort to an increased budget. They searched far and wide for whatever traditional light gray pieces they could find and were able to create a behemoth lab crawler ready to challenge the dunes themselves. It is time to discover and research what lies beyond them!

Nothing spectacular today, just a bunch of little Classic Space sets, recolored in Futuron livery.

Hope you'll like them anyway ;-)

So, Space Chefs is officially a thing, uh? They need an official logo then...

2 Much Caffeine , Crimso Giger, gid617, this is what I came out with. Made with Autocad and imported in Autodesk Graphic (that has its own format .idraw) and then exported as .psd, .png and .svg.

Fell free to download and use them, if you like.

Comments and suggestions are, as usual, very wellcome.

I've never been in love with the train I built for my big M:Tron project, so I built a new one. It's still a work in progress. The back car in particular is quite incomplete, so I carefully hid it in the tunnel.

I wasn't planning on posting this yet, but I got myself a new camera and had to take a picture of something.

New photos of an old MOC.

I built this ship many years ago, I've always liked this little guy, I don't know why I never took photos of it.

This was an undertaking to redesign, but I think it turned out well. Enjoy, and support classic space by clicking the link below to support my LEGO Ideas project! ideas.lego.com/projects/f1b1dfc3-4ef2-4992-aab7-aad16bceed0d

Can't resist to upload this... sorry for the many uploads !

This MOC (actually, a mix beetween two different creations) shows my tendency to build CS a bit like the Town style from the same era. That is because I also love the Town sets, especially from the 80's to the mid-90's.

Last upload for a little while.

Now ... to FebRovery ;-)

A custom blacktron build which I worked a lot on, and one of my most complex spaceship designs

It features a modern cockpit, a cargo bay which can be opened and contains 2 small containers. It’s got a bomb bay too and you can reload the bombs and even release them with a push of a button. Also there is a secret compartment in the ship with a data recorder, and for landings there are landing legs too!😎

Paying my repects to the Galaxy Explorer.

While exploring an unnamed K-Class planet in the Omicron Theta System, Captain Kayden Robert Knight, commander of Nova Team, calls in an Exo Suit Mark III to help the crew survey the dark, foggy, rough terrain of the planet surface in the hopes of making new discoveries.

::: I’ve been wanting to do this photo ever since I ordered the Exo Suit. But it took me a couple of weeks to wrap my brain around how I wanted to achieve this image and find the time to actually do it. I found getting the volumetric lighting I had envisioned was a little tricky, but with lots of lighting adjustments and many rounds with with the fog machine, I think I got it. I’m pretty happy with the "feel" of this one. I sort of like how the Exo Suit is slightly obscured and almost abstract looking as it comes from the light.

The Powered Exoskeleton Project

Worn as an outer mechanical garment, the exoskeletal structure will be powered to dramatically amplify the wearer’s ability to handle loads.

The ‘HARDiMAN’ mimics the movements of its wearer, presenting a literal union of man and machine. Thus, the human’s flexibility, intellect and versatility are combined with the machine’s strength and endurance.

Tried to build an Exoskeleton, which moves with Minifigs limbs. Couldn’t get all the parts in Light bluish grey yet, so I scavenged different sets o_O

A small Blacktron attack craft I built for New Elementary using the grey backside of the NinjaGo Arcade Pods.

The top parts are Bionicle armour pieces from 2008-2009, added to this spaceship during a Bionicle-themed LondonAFOLs meet-up to convey a bit of alien technology into this angular craft.

Named after the Golden Poison Frog

Prototype LL-117 during development.

This year I'm planning a larger MOCin the area of Classic Space. This train will also be part of that MOC.

Thanks to jkbrickworks.com/ for the great idea of a rollercoaster monorail train!

Just a Classic Space ship I put together a while back.

Today's recolored set is 6849 (from 1987), in M-Tron colors.

Might be my last upload for a while, i've barely take care of myself and my flat since almost two months, so I've got to go back to "serious" things ^^

Built for this guy, for some kind of major project he is currently working on...

LEGO Cave Racers were a thing once.

While the big expansionist epoch the origin star system of humanity became the central hub of transportation in the whole galaxy. Due to favorable opportunities of gravitational assists, from the outer planets with higher gravity, the ring system of Saturn was the place to be. Large systems and arrays of orbital platforms were built outwards the E-ring.

Now, these platforms are connected through a fast network of orbital highways, and gigatons of material are moved on them on a daily basis from one facility to the next one and from one landing field to the next.

Security reasons made it necessary to move one bigger container slowly and in the microgravity of the highway. M:tron put together a convoy protected by SpacePolice to get the job done safely.

Vehicles used:

M:Tron UltraHeavy Transport-Unit

M:Tron branded 6812 Grid Trekkor

M:Tron branded 6927 All-Terrain Vehicle with M:Tron Cargo

M:Tron branded 1558 Mobile Command Trailer

M:Tron branded 6827 Strata Scooter

M:Tron branded 1793 Zenon Rover

SpacePolice branded 6833 Beacon Tracer

SpacePolice branded HoverBike

Jenny and Lenny's light two-seat scouting speeder usually used for a quick reconnaissance.

I've felt that my contributions to Febrovery this year have, so far, been way too serious. So behold the F.A.R.T. Skates.

'nuf said.

During the early days of the Civil Space Police, they fielded the Solar Vanguard, a hybrid interceptor/perp transport.

The Solar Vanguard was mostly used on sleepy backwater worlds to apprehend rogue Blacktron agents committing minor offenses such as jay-walking, spitting, and public drunkeness.

Quick, well-armed, and holding an internal single holding cell, this is one Space Police craft not to take lightly.

Apparently Marchikoma is a thing. The things you learn when you join the LEGO Space Discord.

I'm not too familiar with the "Ghost in the Shell" source material, but I do love me some arthropod-based mechs, even more so than humanoid ones sometimes. I'm up for this challenge. We can build a spider walker.

Classic Space because of course my first proper tachikoma is going to be, the Aranea-class System Defence Force walker uses an AI and a pilot acting in tandem, in what I understand to be proper "Ghost in the Shell" fashion.

When I was 6 years old, set 6844 was really one of my favorite Lego sets.

A super cute Rover, not too big, not too small, and with a lot of awesome parts !

I still love it today, but wanted to see how it would look in M-Tron colors - and actually it's not bad like that either ^^

Since the fall of Knighton Castle, the NEXO Knights have moved off world. Here we see the NX882, an update on the 882 radar truck. Just what you need when exploring a planet that does not yet have established communications infrastructure. Also an entry in the Ideas ‘Moments In Space’ Vote for it if you wish.

Here a close look at the interior of my Lego Space Rover.

Heavily armoured, bristling with anomaly sensors, chunky tyres, this is the Rover that will protect you against the most hostile environments in SPACE!

FebRovery 2013

I don't know how much time I will have for rover building this month, but this had to be done.

Black instead of classic grey to match the soapbox racer chassis.

My contribution to the 30th anniversary classic space project on neoclassicspace.

A mid-sized, mid-range cargo freighter, designed to function and to last a lifetime. Dedicated to the hard working staff of spacemen who keep the federation up and running behind the scenes.
