My entry to the Lego Ideas 90th Anniversary space contest: ideas.lego.com/challenges/8f551f3c-0554-4b9b-a1a6-8dc61e9...
Below my latest digital MOC, a modern redesign of the LEGO Classic Space Set 6861 X1 Patrol Craft.
In 2016, I already did a decent attempt by using the snotting technique with slopes (flickr.com/photos/jm_aalen/28102078180/in/dateposted-public/), but when I detected some days ago that there are 2 Monkie Kid Sets that have a 8 x 4 x 2 Windscreen (21849) in Bright-Green, so an non rare, new and affordable Cockpit Window, I decided to redesign the ship again with a closed cockpit. The size has a bit increased now, but maybe you like the MOC however.
Continuing a survey mission on the dark, foggy, rough terrain of a K-Class planet in the Omicron Theta System, Nova Team's Captain Knight stands tall overlooking the edge of a precipice hoping to make new scientific discoveries, but ready for action if the need arises. Behind him stands an Exo Suit Mk III as well as members of Nova Team and Federation explorers who have joined in on the mission as well.

:::This is just an continuation of the story from my previous photo "Exo Suit Has Arrived"
It’s an epic battle for Lego Space as the evil First Order meets the remnants of Classic Space!
As soon as the heroic Robot Turtle (www.flickr.com/photos/133750589@N08/27480216022/in/photos... ) completes the recon mission, the legendary Exo Suit is deployed on the planet’s surface; searching for valuable resources to sustains the Classic Space Program.
However despite the defeat suffered at the hands (well, robotic legs) of the Space Turtle, the First Order is still plaguing the area.
A Stormtrooper unit attacks but the powerful Exo Suit strikes back, teaching the followers of the Tantrum Knight a good lesson.
This battle is won but the members of Classic Spaces know regardless the coolness of their Exo Suit they are outnumber and outgunned. It’s time to look for allies and luckily the universe if full of enemies of the First Order; some of them very powerful.
I decided to bring the older Lego Space themes into my Brick Multiverse :)
Sadly I can’t find most of my old sets. I know they are somewhere but I haven’t found them yet. All I have is small group of Minifigures. Some of them bear the very Classic Space logo, like the Futuron Minifigures.
I also have Blacktron, Ice Planet, Spyrius etc Minifigures.
They are not many (hence the use of words remnants, outnumber and outgunned in the story) but they are enough for a little group. Hopefully one day I’ll find those sets :)
May the Brick be with You :)

How many of you remember MTV’s Pimp my ride, with its extravagant cars? I do, and I must confess I enjoyed that series! When I saw for the first time the LEGO Rey’s Speeder set, I don’t know exactly why, but I thought (almost) immediately of Benny and that show…
So I decided to build the speeder in the Classic Space colors, added some very badass (imho) details, boosted the engines, added a second seat and… obviously thought of a Xzibit minifig for the space era.
The story is this: Benny bought on S-bay a used speeder by a certain Rey from Jakku, but it was a downright rip-off. Mr. Robot, in the attempt of cheering his mate up, called MTV and... TA-DAH!!
Hope you like this MTV - Star wars – Classic Space mesh-up, as much as I had fun in thinking it up, building it and photographing it!
Well, actually, as for the photographing part… I did it in a big hurry, so it didn’t come out exactly as I had in my mind, but I had to do it before the Desenzano Event (www.cremonabricks.it/150909_desenzano.php). I promise more photos (and more detailed) next week!
A sadly slow rover, as its air conditioning unit took most of the power from its engine, leaving little to drive it along the Moon's surface. However, it was handy place to grow tomatoes.

The front 1x2x3 windscreen doesn't exist in the real world. I don't like using fantasy elements without pointing it out. However, some turmeric might be able to change that.
I'm a big fan of vertically-oriented ships, and this one I'm particularly pleased with how it turned out, especially with the semi-retractable landing gear.
Somehow the shape puts me in mind of a fish of some kind, and being a fan also of prehistoric life (even if I don't build it all that much) I'm calling this the LL313 Coelacanth
Equipped with three sets of rotating blades for chopping up pretty flowers, cute baby bunnies and people.
Medical bay - a preview .
Been working on a neo classic space hangar so here's a sneak peak. This pic is also an entry to the monthly SBC-challenge over on Swebrick. The piece for this month was the 533 Brick, Round 2 x 2 Dome Top.
So, where were we? Oh, yes, the candlelit dinner... Well, everyone is sleeping now at Oupost Alpha, because of Kuybos waffles. Almost everyone... Kelly is still awake and she's looking at CHEF-A-TRON's circuits scheme on her tablet. And she has just found something very interesting. But why is she still awake and why is she studying CHEF-A-TRON's schemes? What does she have in her mind?
What a day! Time for a photo all together! But please, Benny, take your helmet off! 3... 2... 1... Say spaceship!!

As promised in december 2022 I created free building instructions for my modern redesign of the LEGO Classic Space Set 483 Alpha-1 Rocket Base. This because my LEGO IDEAS Project Queen Elizabeth II reached 7000 supporters. Thank you very much for those who helped me to reach this milestone.
You can download the instructions for free here: legolux1973.link/483revisited
For those who haven´t voted yet for my project, may I however kindly ask to you to support my LEGO IDEAS Project Queen Elizabeth II referenced in the instructions (ideas.lego.com/projects/4728ec96-b055-43f8-aa54-76ed086418ee ). I think this would be fair enough as a small recompensation for the time and work invested in the manual.
Happy building, stay safe and keep healthy. #legolux1973 #legoclassicspace #legospace
"Command Base" made for the display "Space Panic" at the french convention Brick à Dole 2017.
Refresh of a famous Lego set, a set from my childhood, the "Beta I Command Base" n°6970 #Nostalgie
I kept the overall shape of the base, the idea of radars and interior design but adding a touch of modernity (especially the back side).
Compared to the original version, I added a lot of technical equipment on the back (Air conditioning especially ^^)
On the roof, I simply add a touch of modernity on antennas and radars.
They'll probably go somewhere with more hills. Those jumps are awesome with low gravity ;)
I designed this moc earlier as a beach buggy. It's still february so I thought I could change it to a febrovery moonrover.
What is a diner without truck drivers? And what is a space diner without space truck drivers?
Enter the NCS "Reckless" a class-B space truck, piloted by Qlalny from planet Dawharvis. It's a heavily customized Peterbilt S-797 for intergalactic runs. Two supercherged washusten engines allow the NCS " Reckless" to reach the until now only dreamt ultra-ludicrous speed. Rumour has it that it made the Kessel Run faster than a certain Millenium Raccoon starship, even if its captain Jan Polo will never admit it...
I bet you recognized the 5972 set from Space Police III (brickset.com/sets/5972-1/Container-Heist): well, you're right! I made it a little more badass, imho.

The LL-942 was designed for use in high density atmospheres, and also to be able to withstand manoeuvres in high gravitational fields. Early exploratory missions included many to gas and ice giants, its natural habitat, but it soon proved so popular with Federation pilots that it became one of the most used ships in active service.
Another Classic Space spaceship for the 40th anniversary of the theme, in lovely old grey.
We need MORE POWER!!!
[ That's a real plasma ball behind the screen in there. However, the rest of the photo has been filtered and edited to all hell! ]
The Quiet Useful And Sensibly Appointed Rover was quiet sensible and reasonably useful. It was considered to be something of a failure by the vehicle design department of Llwyngwril Systems.
Across the galactic disc, thousands of 886 rovers lay neglected, replaced by bigger, better, faster machines. Out in the furthest reaches they never went out of use. Old 886s were continually updated and upgraded, as we see here.
Febrovery is coming! have you been to wheel shop yet? flic.kr/g/hgEjw
Suddendly a subroutine starts to run in Mr. Robot’s operating system. Some strings of code deeply hidden in his core memory. That’s an emergency procedure included by the K3 mechanoids’ programmers in the unlikely event of serious damages to the units.
«Take me to the maker!» says Mr. Robot once again. «Who is this maker? Where is he? How can we found him?» asks Benny. But all this questions remain unanswered. «Take me to the maker! Take me to the maker!» Keeps saying Mr. Robot like a mantra.
(to be continued…)
I decided to do a classic play set version of my latest neo-classic spaceship with some old style box art. Naturally, the rover fits in the back once you’ve hinged up the central engine, and the entire canopy hinges too, though this hinge is concealed under a further hinge beneath the classic space slope! I tried to recreate the details of the original in classic style. 40 years young.

The pinnacle of Federation design, The LL-928 Galaxy Explorer lasted generations longer than virtually any other craft. Its combination of speed, power, and adaptability made it not just a perennial favourite amongst Federation pilots, but also a symbol of the Federation's mission as a whole.
Proudly presenting instructions for a studless Galaxy Explorer which you can build at home. Even if you don't buy them, would be a huge hlep to me if you checked them out, and gave them a like and comment. Designed to fit in with my design for the LL-925, it uses 99%+ modern parts, all of them common, so this should be as painless and cheap to put together as possible! It's a light bley version of my LL-929, which is itself an homage to Peter Reid's evergreen LL-497, and has 1212 parts in total. It's *very* sturdy and swooshable!
I built in a lot of play features - working landing gear, a rover which can be contained in the back, swivelling rear doors like the original, and also the original a rear folding hatch, and roof which hinges up.
It will come as little surprise to regular viewers of this Photostream that the notorious Vehicle Design Department of Llwyngwril Space Systems had a specialist wheels design team. This small, elite group were regarded as, "...a bunch of nutters..." and "...a waste of space..." by their colleagues.
It was never quite clear how or why their designs made it into production so frequently. It was once posited that one of Llwyngwril Systems' executives had had an irrational fear of rubbery toroids with "LEGO" written on them. Centuries later, it was discovered that this fear had actually been very rational indeed...
If you're wondering about the name, here's the explanation.
The surface of Tao-Cet has areas of giant firethorn bushes with berries larger than pumpkins. It is a sight to behold.

These beautiful bushes were in front of a hotel in page that we stayed at back in November. They were chock full of perfectly orange berries and were the perfect setting for several different toy shoots.👌🍊
