Built in 1930, this eighteen-story Classical Revival-style skyscraper was designed by Baumann and Baumann as the Andrew Johnson Hotel, named for former United States President Andrew Johnson, a native of Tennessee. The tallest building in Knoxville for about half of the 20th Century until the completion of First Tennessee Plaza nearby in 1978, the building was Knoxville’s most prestigious hotel until the 1960s. The building features a red brick exterior, stone trim including quoins and belt coursing, brick quoins, a cornice at the top of the fourth floor and the top of the building’s roofline at the 16th floor and 18th floor, one-over-one windows with stone sills, a concrete base cast to appear as stone, arched windows on the front and rear facades of the second floor, a decorative stone surround at the central bays and arched window of the second floor of the front facade with ionic pilasters, a decorative cornice, and ballustrade on the rooftop above, a decorative trim surround at the arched side entrance along Hill Avenue on the first floor, retail spaces along the building’s two street frontages, a simple and unadorned section of the facade between the fifth and fourteenth floors, stone belt coursing at the base of the fifteenth floor with balustrades under the fifteenth floor windows and broken pediments above the windows, decorative keystones at the sixteenth floor windows, decorative stone surrounds at the seventeenth floor windows, and pilasters between the windows on the seventeenth and eighteenth floors with ionic capitals. The building originally featured terraces on either side of the second-floor ballroom, which is clad in stone, but these were enclosed with simple red brick extensions to the ballroom in the 1960s, removing several arched windows and the decorative balustrades in the process, and the original eighteenth floor oxeye windows were removed and replaced with one-over-one replacements in enlarged openings, which allowed for more standardization of the interior when it was configured as office space. The building later received the addition of a shed-roofed glass atrium on its north side in the 1980s and a concrete parking garage to the rear, with it no longer functioning as a hotel, instead housing offices for the Knox County government. As of today, there are plans to convert the building back into a hotel, with the Knox County government offices having mostly vacated the building. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

"What Is a Classical Botanical Garden?
At The New York Botanical Garden we study, exhibit, and teach about plants. These three activities define what a classical botanical garden is.
Classical botanical gardens have a broader and more comprehensive mission than other kinds of plant-focused institutions, such as display gardens, environmental education centers, universities, or public gardens, that participate in only some of these activities.
The New York Botanical Garden conducts vast global scientific research programs, every year making expeditions to study and collect plants around the world. In New York, the Garden's scientists use cutting-edge techniques at the Garden's state-of-the-art laboratories to discover and understand the properties of plants and their relationships to each other, to ecosystems, and to people.
The Botanical Garden has 50 gardens and more than one million living plants, including 30,000 mature trees, on its 250-acre landscape. These collections include the most beautiful rose garden in the United States and tropical and desert plants displayed in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, where three public exhibitions are presented each year.
The Garden teaches people of all ages about plants and the environment through its educational programs in the Everett Children's Adventure Garden, the Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden, the Home Gardening Center, the Graduate Studies Program, the School of Professional Horticulture, and the largest Continuing Education program of any botanical Garden in the U.S.
Through its scientific research, exhibition, and educational programs, The New York Botanical Garden is one of the world's premier classical botanical gardens."

How could software re-interpret classical sculptures? Does it garner the same emotional response? Is it as durable as the marble and stone and metal of classical sculptures? Classical Fusion is an design experiment, a chance to explore how we think about our relationships with technology through the creative process.
To create these models, I ran various constraints through the generative design function in Fusion 360, based off 3D digital models of 2 sculptures - David by Michelangelo, and The Thinker by Rodin.
Part of a commission to produce a moving image response to 'Music For The Imagination' by Lenny Sayers, commissioned and performed by the Sterling Trio
The piece is structured over four movements and the images follow these movements and are structured in a similar way.
