British Rail class 507 emu 507006, Kirkdale EMU depot, Liverpool. Saturday 10 July 2021
This unit was withdrawn following an accident at Kirkby on 13 March 2021 when at around 18:53, the 18:35 Liverpool Central to Kirkby service hit the buffers at the end of the Merseyrail platform at Kirkby station.
The train approached the station at 42 mph before the driver made an emergency brake application. This emergency brake application slowed the train before it hit the buffers, which caused the train to derail and collide with the platform extension at the station under a road bridge. The platform extension links the Merseyrail platform and the Northern Rail platform. Twelve people on the train sustained minor injuries. This unit which was due to be withdrawn along with others from the same class has now been scrapped at Newport.

The model class 150/2 is a repainted standard Bachmann offering.
The model has been backdated to as delivered condition by cutting the gangway door window and adding the perspex dirt cover.
A light weathering in due course will complete the model.

Class 47 no 47975 hauls 323201 through Rugby on 18 February 1993. I think this was the first time I had seen a Class 323 and I'm not sure now what this working was, or where the unit was heading. According to Wikipedia the first 323 "finally entered revenue-earning service on 7 February 1994."
47975 was originally D1723, built by Brush Traction in 1964. It was allocated 47132, but this number was never carried and it was renumbered to 47540 in October 1974. It was renumbered in the Departmental series as 47975 between August 1990 and December 1995, when it reverted to 47540. It was withdrawn in May 1998 and was, for a while, preserved at the Wensleydale Railway, but was scrapped at TJ Thomson of Stockton in April 2016.

Class 47 47773 after a quick turnround at Crewe heading north through Winsford with the 'Les Ross' Day Tripper' railtour. It was now on the Crewe to Liverpool leg with 86259 on the tail. I didn't think the Pendolino was going to clear in time for the shot but luck prevailed.

The ceremony included the Coast Guard Academy Class of 2014 receiving their shoulder boards and being welcomed into the corps.
The ceremony marks the formal acceptance of new cadets into the corps after completing seven weeks of basic military training known as "swab summer."
Additionally, the event marks the official transfer of responsibility and authority from the outgoing summer regimental command staff to the first class cadets, who lead the corps through the first semester.
