Double heading with the pair of BR Standard class 2 nos. 78019 & 78018, the 13.30 service from Leicester North arrives into Loughborough on 26th January 2024, during the GCR Winter Steam Gala.
My Lego model of a Southern Pacific MT-5. The real MT-5's were built between 1929 and 1930 in Southern Pacific's Sacramento shops. While they were originally built for passenger service, they soon became mixed traffic engines as more powerful engines; such as the GS class, took on the role of pulling passenger trains. Unfortunately, there are no surviving MT class locomotives. I specifically modelled #4369 as it appeared in 1946
July 2014. I have added some more pictures of British Standard 2 78019 to my website. These were taken on the Great Central Railway with a mixed goods train.

A weekend away started at the Great Central Railway at Loughborough with a visit to their Autumn Steam Gala.
As Usual, the Main Aim was to get as many Steam Train Journeys to add to my Steam Powered Journeys Spreadsheet which is my modern "Trainspotting" record.

On our photowalk last Saturday it took a Montrealer to show us that minutes away from the Parliament buildings, Ottawa has it’s own unique whitewater paddling course, called the Pumphouse.
It’s a class 2 course where recreational or competitive paddlers can learn, and practice.

A Photo from Day 5 of a 10 day 9 night "Railway Tour" of 13 Museums and Heritage Railway Locations. The Main Aim was to get as many Steam Train Journeys to add to my Steam Powered Journeys Spreadsheet which is my modern "Trainspotting" record.
The East Somerset Railway (ESR) runs trains from Cranmore station to Mendip Vale station and back on a 5 mile round trip along its Heritage Railway line.
Along the line, there is also a halt and Cranmore West Station which is near the Sheds.
There is ample car parking at the Cranmore end of the line on normal running days so I started there.
The day I went during the sort of main summer holidays, there was only 1 steam Locomotive running although another was at the sheds and could have been steamed if thought necessary.
Here, at Cranmore Station, 46447 is just about to power the next round trip.
46447 is a Ivatt designed LMS "Class 2" 2MT 2-6-0 loco.
