This is more on the edge of interpretation for this week's theme in Macro Monday where each week we post up to five images depicting our interpretation of the theme.
The theme this week is "My Gang"
I don't prefer bland food. I don't over do the spices. Just a bit to enhance what we are blessed to eat.
Spice the tomato stew.
This is the creative part and what helps to differentiate one person's chili from the other person's chili. I add 1/2 cup sugar, a large palm of sea salt, several Bay leaves, 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce, a generous shaking of crushed red pepper flakes and enough chili powder to completely cover the entire top of the stew. I add the ground cumin more carefully tasting as I add.
"Happy Chili" designed for the guys as we watch the 2012 Super Bowl. Dark and dreary Rochester this winter demands chili that is a pick me up for eyes and mouth.

I divided a bag of microwave popcorn into two bowls. I sprinkled chili powder and cayenne pepper on top of one bowl and sugar and powdered ginger on the other. You don't have to eat it plain!

Made on a roaring hot pan, should use another pan to press down, because the center is still soft. But no big deal, different textual, although, all cracking is better.
Ingredients are very much so from yesterday's bread. Left out of white pepper powder, swapped with garlic oil.

Alton Brown's recipe, made by Steve. He's been making it since about 2005, but I hadn't taken a picture of it before. The ramekin is Dan and Carmen's, in which we "borrowed" some bourbon for pork chops on Monday. I thought it would be good a container for this picture. We'll be washing it once more before we give it back :)
