My first "epic" project. At the time, it felt like the sprite was so ridiculously large that I'd never finish it. I actually had to buy more boards when I was first starting out to accommodate his large size. I really could remake Charizard to get rid of things like the yellow on his stomach, but he looks fine with it, so why bother?

My Pokémon Safari is a set dedicated to me searching for all the wonderful Pokémon from my childhood as I design posters from the 1st Generation Pokémon.
Duplicated the first foot (traced around it) and cut it out. Started shaping the other foot with scissors. Compared side by side.
The completed fursuit costume of my Charizard Pokemorph character Kaida, a female, anthropomorphic-like Pokemon.
And here's the finished tail! Elastic belt loop sewn to the top, inserted aprox.10-8 gauge wire armature through the middle and through tail flame (boa wraps around it) Stuffed with poly-fil.
About the bead sprite:

Second largest Pokemon in the series. Only smaller than Charizard, and only by TWO beads! I'm extremely pleased with this, he just looks bad-ass. The browns shade just right and the oranges are vibrant. This one took me a couple hours, though! Arcanine like Growlithe, was a good bet for a fire-type if you didn't choose Charmander to start.

Arcanine originally had the name "Blaze." If this had happened, it would have been the only Pokémon with the same name as an ability. Arcanine has the highest base stats of any non-legendary Fire-type Pokémon. Arcanine has the third-highest base stat total of any non-legendary and non-pseudo-legendary Pokémon, next to Slaking and Archeops. This also makes it the Pokémon with the highest base stat total to be neither a legendary nor a pseudo-legendary and not have a hindering ability. Arcanine is based on the Ryukyuan シーサー shisa, or koma-inu. They are mythical creatures that take inspiration from lions, tigers, and dogs. Statues of them in pairs are used as guardians and to invite good luck. It could also be based on the Haetae, a mythical fire-eating dog with similarities to lions and tigers. Arcanine's name is a combination of arcane, meaning mysterious or secret, and canine, meaning dog.

Completed eyes. See through mesh made from aida cloth and colored with markers. White plastic is from the siding of a colander bowl and cut with a dremmel tool.
First stage of the feet. Took the shoe and drew out the foot. My character Kaida being an anthropomorphic Charizard has four toes instead of the usual three.

my friend has been making pokemon keychains out of felt. she's been making them all summer because so many people request them because these are awesome. i bought a quilava from her. it's one of my favorite pokemon. i remember in elementary school i would play pretend pokemon and roll a red frisbee on the ground to pretend it was quilava's flamewheel. yeah.
