An avid JRPG fan, the 17 year old Jeremy Testudine, loves anything to do with Pokemon. So when his parents surprised him on Christmas day with tickets to comic con he knew exactly what he was going to go as. After several months of careful planning and preparation he started on his Charizard costume only to have it go up in smoke when a jock at his local high school lit it on fire when Jeremy was on his way to the Anime club. After much time of wallowing in depression at the destruction of his beautiful costume Jeremy decided to give it one more shot and created his second favorite Pokemon, Blastoise. By the time he finished SDCC was only a week away and he packed and headed to the con. After a restless night of anticipation he got up, donned his costume and started walking to the convention center. Little did he know he would be stopped every 5 feet for a photo shoot..

The required side shot. Shows a closer view on the cannons and the straps used for the shell

The result from yesterday's short Livestream, the completed understructure of a Charizard mask!

This is the first time I've attempted to create a plastic mask with a moving jaw, and I'm happy to say that it's working out great so far! It's made with an impact resistant resin, cast from a silicone mold I made from a sculpture I created from clay. Definitely and involved, but fun, process! Check out all the photos in this album to see each step in how it was made :)

all the basic pokemon starters

About the bead sprite:

1,251 Beads.

I did Charmeleon and Wartortle the same night in May, and that finished up all the evolutionary families for all the starter Pokemon. My color selection had expanded by then so I like my choices. Usually in the TV show, I think Charmeleon appeared a more red color than both Charmander and Charizard, so that's how I wanted him to appear.

What my Fiancée calls this Pokemon:

Fire Raptor-Headed Lizard

Facts & Trivia:

Charmeleon resembles a small dinosaur with remnants of Charmander's salamander-like appearance. Although its nomenclature suggests commonality with the chameleon, Charmeleon exhibits very few of the major physiologically distinguishing traits of the chameleon. Charmeleon hasn't the specialized zygodactylic feet, separately mobile eyes, extrudable tongue, or the ability to change color like some members of the chameleon species. The few characteristics it does share are the similarly looking snout, a prominent head crest (which resembles a small horn in its Generation I back sprite), and extensive use of its tail. Chameleons have prehensile tails used for climbing and grasping, while Charmeleon utilizes its tail as a weapon.

Old stock photo in my mobile phone with background blurred with "glowing edges" to protect Emeril.

These are Japanese Gum Card Packs. Each pack has a package of chewing gum and two cards all of which are in keeping with the outer graphics of the package.

I mistakingly included the gum in the clear cello at the top which actually goes with some Sailormon Kira Kira cards.

Other "edibles" here.

All these (and more) need new homes as I'm going to a different country for an extended stay soon so send me a Flickr Mail message (access through the arrow that appears near my profile photo when mousing over it) if interested.

It's always fun when cosplayers mix it up rather than do a straight interpretation. Good job, Yuki!

Pokemon sure has changed. They had to fill me in on the whole mega evolution thing. Why in MY day we walked ten miles in the snow before we found someone to battle with and now they're all on that damn Internet!
