District Council of East Torrens Deep Creek Bridge
This plaque was erected by Council in Association with the East Torrens Historical Society to mark the Restoration of the Deep Creek Bridge.
The original bridge was constructed in April – June 1867 by the Central District Board of Main Roads: contractor was Alfred Adams 1827 – 1871.
Restored 1992 – 1995 as a Community Project.

These free-spirited pack donkeys are happy doing what they do best, working. Donkeys have been working animals for 5,000 years or more and have a reputation for stubbornness which is the likely reason they are know for their self preservation. Donkeys are known for their intelligence, as well as being playful, friendly, cautious, and eager to learn.
Five copper donkeys working to transport their pack goods and each one individually hand sawn, hand stamped, polished, and attached together in chain fashion. Solid copper chain has been attached at each end creating an 18 inch adjustable length necklace that is completed with a hand crafted hook catch. Each copper donkey measures 1 ¼ inches from ear to hoof by 1 ¼ inches from tail to muzzle and carries a hand stamped brass pack.
I got Ariel today. I ordered her online on release day, October 27, 2018. She is #2047 of 4500. She and the box arrived in perfect shape. However, the invitation card has slipped down in the plastic sleeve, and won't stay up. I love her face and hair, but her dress is a bit too gaudy for my taste, although it is appropriate for an 80's girl. Her hair is stiff at the ends to keep its curl, so it got a little messy when I broke it up to even out her hair in the back. I cut off the rubber band securing the purse string to her shoulder. I had to use a little tape to keep it from sliding off her shoulder afterwards. I show her boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed. I have her now on my desk, right next to me as I type this. It is convenient that I got her just before the next one, Tiana, is released tomorrow.

Angler Eric Packard took a few casts on St Mary’s Lake on 10/7. I got a late start and had little hope in catching much at mid day, but it’s Fall and things are changing. Dead grasses floating and stained water in some areas. I ended up catching 11 largemouth bass, four pickerel (biggest was 25.5”) and a small yellow perch. Catching most fish on a jerk bait, a few on a square billed crankbait, and two bass on a shaky head jig. Catching in stump fields, over dying grass and off points.

7 mins 30s of exposure (15x30s) using a 4" Celestron NexStar 102SLT and Nikon D90 at prime focus. ISO3200. Frames processed in DSS and Photoshop. Taken on the 8th May 2016. There are a number of galaxies in this image which are all part of the Virgo Cluster. Starting at bottom right is the elliptical galaxy M84. Above and to the left of this is the giant elliptical galaxy M86 sandwiched between two edge-on spirals NGC 4402 (above) and NGC 4388 (below). Further up the chain are the "Eyes"; two interacting galaxies NGC 4438 and NGC 4435. Another three galaxies can be seen further up the chain. The giant elliptical galaxy M87 is in the bottom left of the picture.
