[ Playing catchup on my scanning. ]

I have posted Robin's cards here because I love the way that she did the backs of her cards and I have had a couple of people ask for examples on how to do the backs of their cards.

I will be scanning and posting an array of different backs on the NEW Non_Cents site as reference examples.

After work 9-3 I chilled out at home i had planned to go skate before I knew I was in till three but its extra money and was pretty wet so I didn't mind. Got home and watched movies and scrolled through flickr when Ash turned up because he was on his way past so we went back to his and played a zombie game with Dan.

As my 50mm can't focus or work when screwed on to the body I have been using it to free lens instead. Half the time its a blurry mess but I get the occasional gem. Didn't really take too many so only got one good one.

fantastic to catchup with my Flickr friends

Still playing catchup with our backlog of recieved post after a month away - @Grthink you were so right!

These must have been in my REAL wall towers for at least a month, so here goes...

Top left is from JJalltheway - you've already seen this a few times, both here and on the sand in Phu Quoc island, Vietnam. What can I say, we like it, so it's travelled all over, and will probably pop up all over the place. Thanks so much for the wedding gift too JJ, that was so thoughtful. Finally I can see the works of Shaun Tan for myself.

The lovely vibrant pinks and greens is a piece called "Horizon 2 January 2009" and has come from Whimsy and Colour, who is based in Calgary. Little known fact - I'm related to a politician in Calgary and will always go there when I'm in Canada.

Martha Miller makes her second appearance on the wall, with her mailart 365 head theme still going strong 60 heads in!

There are 3 Little Big Stories on the wall today, which arrived well after the deadline, so sadly didn't make it on to the walls of Pimlico. The show has been awesome, and I spoke to the librarian about the possibility of making a book from the pieces. I am thinking of extending the call to include new artists, and artists who were gutted that they missed the deadline for the show, and I intend to make the book available for purchase with all profits going to the library book buying fund.

2 new mailartists on the wall today are the Spanish speakers Cernjul Viviana from Argentina and Mute Sound from Spain. Cernjul sent in the Carnival piece with mask. Check out Cernjul's mailart blog for some great stuff coming out of Argentina.

Mute Sound sent 2 intriguing pieces, with circular motifs - Help Mute Sound out with his project "1 minute hypnosis" by sending 1 minute of sound in any system by mail or email. Check out his website for more details.

Thanks to Merdoc Robotics for your block print, which takes pride of place in the calendar, alongside one of Elenas new quilling contacts, Catherine.

What a day! Loads more to come!

I stayed after work a bit today to catchup with some stuff. When it was time to go, I did my usual routine, put on the glasses, stuff my bags, find my keys. ETC . . .

I load myself up in the elevator with two other passengers. One of them says to me: You're not gonna need your glasses today. I look towards them: Oh? The other says: Nope, hope you have an umbrella in one of those bags. I feel in my purse: Nope, I don't, but I'll just take my shoes off and enjoy the walk, it's not like I'm gonna melt (I smiled, taking my glasses off).

When I got to the back lobby there was a crowd of about 15+ people all chatting and observing the rain. There was one person I knew but she didn't recognize me. Another dude was in his moto-honda-leathers (sux to be him). A few others had umbrellas but I guess didn't want to share them or just didn't want to venture out just yet.

I checked my bags, in my lunch bag my cel phone was hiding. Ooops. I put it in my purse which was a bit more waterproof than the lunch bag. I opened up my crumpler and adjusted it so it was a bit more waterproof too. Cool. I double checked to make sure my purse was snapped and sealed. I walked up to the front door and pressed the red button to exit . . .

Oh yea, put your sun glasses back on silly! I took my shoes off and walked calmly out the back door.

The warm rain FELT so gooooooooood between my toes!!!!! For a second it felt like I was a kid. I woulda jumped and splashed in the puddles, but afterall I WAS wearing my work clothes, and I wasn't in the mood to do laundry tonight :)

As the last to join the Patience tribe Thea and Sophie are always trying to catch up with all the outfits! Finally their dungaree outfits are finished!

This student is part of a class who like to write notes to one another. I don't discourage it much, since it's all learning English. This little guy gets the older boys to help him with his spelling.

Now, if only he would heed his own request!

Day Three-hundred-and-nine ...

This is the final 'present-day' shot for a while. Somewhere in this catchup I've managed to create I have to head back to the last day of July, then locate the remainder of my missing August and September! Honestly, useless does not begin to describe me.

So, moving swiftly on ...

Every year another of our 'traditions' is to visit Father Christmas at Stockeld Park, which is just outside Wetherby on the road to Harrogate. It's THE most amazing place, with an enchanted forest, christmas tree maze and an eco-friendly ice rink. However - even someone as giddy about Christmas as me thinks it's a tad early to visit Santa on the fifth-of-November (okay, I checked, he wasn't there yet ;p), so although we had a browse around the Christmas shop, today was more about fireworks!!

Stockeld put on one of (if not the) best firework display in the area and there's no expense spared as twenty minutes of bangs and pops and whooshes continue incessantly over the forest, which of course wouldn't be complete without a classical music accompaniment over the tannoy.

This was a 1.6 second exposure, handheld at ISO 200, f/8. And strangely it was only when posting this that I realised I hadn't changed the time on my camera when the clocks went back the other week. Utterly, utterly useless ;)

Great catchup session over Japanese handcraft beers, IPA style night... this particular one was from the UK.. but it didn't really work for us though. We still prefer the very first one, from Nagoya, Japan.
