Mom casting to catch a large mouth Bass and catch one she did a 16". It was a rather exciting moment for both of us!! I had to put the camera down to get it off the hook...we decided to let it go only because NEITHER of us knows how to clean it!! one of my favorite moments with Mom!!

I've been to a few castings in Warsaw as a photographer, taking photos of the people waiting to stand in front of the camera and hoping to get a role in a commercial, a soap or a feature...Nobody I have talked to so far has admitted they would like to be famous. So maybe they don't. They simply want to try out something new, they wish tochallenge themselves or simply see if they are fit for media.. (which equals being famous in a way, doesn't it).

Wile bored at work yesterday afternoon, my avid fisherman co-worker Dan (sorry ladies, he's taken) and I decided to mess around and make a short video about casting. It's not the best quality video, but it gets the point across.
Filmed in the parking lot behind my office in Naperville, IL. This is the first video I have ever posted to Flickr. I am now part of the Flickr video community. Yay me.

Event: Make Me A Meukow Model

If you remember we put in a small garden pond earlier this summer and stocked it with goldfish from the pet store. The gold fish all got Ich and died, which is common with pet store fish. Since my parents already have 2 ponds at their house that are stocked with goldfish that are healthy and naturalized to ponds, we decided to catch a couple of theirs for our pond. Mr Chiots got out my dad's casting net and netted us a few little fish.
That's me sanding Jodi's 3rd belly casting(cars theme).Summer 2007.The completed belly casting(painted) is in my photostream along with other ones that I've made.

It's stainless steel and has seen plenty of use in the last few decades. Over the "polished" surface can be seen a number of pitted blemishes which look rather like casting flaws, once bubbles in the liquid steel. But this is the only stainless steel item I can recall seeing these kinds of flaws in. They might on the other hand be places where some local impurities in the steel had allowed chemically active sauces etc., such as vinegar, lemon juice, tomato sauce, to eat into the surface.
