What casting directors really want
Had a shoot with young actor Jordan Billings.
We met up in his home town of Newton Le Willows. He travelled down from his acting studies at Preston University.
Casting directors and agents had given Jordan advice on the images required for professional actors' listings on Spotlight, Starnow and for casting in general. They want clean, professional headshots, so casting directors know what they're getting.
With the mobile studio set up, we captured a good range of images, giving Jordan plenty to choose from.
Jordan is an absolute gentleman and has a lovely family.

Step 5: Clean off the play-dough and remove the original pieces.
If you were making a two-sided mold, you'd put the pieces back in after cleaning off the play-dough and rebuild your Lego form so you could pour the other half of this mold. But I was too excited to wait another day and just went straight to the casting step next!
Ricky Ross from Deacon Blue's excellent gig at The Usher Hall in December.
My review of the gig for TV Bomb is here: www.tvbomb.co.uk/review/deacon-blue/
You can see more pics in my Deacon Blue set.
My thanks are due to Tom O'Rourke (Deacon Blue's Manager) for giving me permission to photograph the full gig. :-)

After a lot of deliberation this is my entry for 'Something In The Way She Moves' for the February 2011 Monthly Scavenger Hunt. Unless I change my mind or find something better.
I was fascinated by the float tube this guy was using.
Apparently, his legs are in the water. Must get cold after a while.
CBMM welcomed nationally renowned sculpture artist and Shepherd University professor Christian Benefiel, who guided workshop participants through the intricacies of casting bronze and aluminum, including creating molds, working the sand and furnace, and pouring molten metal. Greek Mythology
AMPHITRITE Goddess of the Sea In ancient Greek mythology, Amphitrite was a sea-goddess and wife of Poseidon.[1] Under the influence of the centaur Olympian pantheon, she became merely the consort of Poseidon, and was further diminished by poets to a symbolic representation of the sea. In Roman mythology, the consort of Neptune.
Amphitrite was a daughter of Nereus and Doris (and thus a Nereid), according to Hesiod's Theogony, but of Oceanus and Tethys (and thus an Oceanid), according to the Bibliotheca, which actually lists her among both the Nereids[3] and the Oceanids.[4] Others called her the personification of the sea itself (saltwater). One of Amphitrite's Oceanid sisters is Perse, (wife of Helios). Amphitrite's offspring included seals[5] and dolphins.[6] Poseidon and Amphitrite had a son, Triton who was a merman, and a daughter, Rhode (if this Rhode was not actually fathered by Poseidon on Halia or was not the daughter of Asopus as others claim). Bibliotheca (3.15.4) also mentions a daughter of Poseidon and Amphitrite named Benthesikyme.

Molten metal is carefully poured into molds as metal makers create new castings from recycled scrap metal. The Metal Makers from Chicago set up and demonstrated their portable foundry in a large temporary sandbox in the parking lot of The Henry Ford museum during Maker Faire. Makers converged in Dearborn ( for the Detroit - Motor City Maker Faire 2011 ) from all over the country.
My entry for this very exciting casting.....New Baroque ROCKS!!!

Durey Castings, as I found out today, is a company local to Gravesend and Northfleet; it's in Dartford and still on the go.
I don't know what 'Passavant' signifies: it appears to be on different manufacturers' manhole covers and has various other uses. Perhaps it's a style...this was a very noticeable cover !
It's at (or was at) The Creek, Northfleet, which is currently part of a massive developement (Ebbsfleet Garden City...) so if it's still there may be covered.
