Event: Make Me A Meukow Model

If you remember we put in a small garden pond earlier this summer and stocked it with goldfish from the pet store. The gold fish all got Ich and died, which is common with pet store fish. Since my parents already have 2 ponds at their house that are stocked with goldfish that are healthy and naturalized to ponds, we decided to catch a couple of theirs for our pond. Mr Chiots got out my dad's casting net and netted us a few little fish.
According to the experts at the foundry, it was a successful pour. We'll be seeing finished parts shortly!

When winterising the engine, came across aload of goo at the back end of the engine. As I only see this area once a year, thought I had better sort it out. The gasket of this 34 year old engine had given up the ghost leading to some leakage of water and antifreeze. The four bolts holding the casting came off very easily and you can see there's a good bit of scaling.

Vacuum casting is a method of producing plastic and rubber parts under vacuum using silicone moulds. This set turned out great! I didn't trim away all the flashing from the Mandalorian armor so you could see what it looks like as one piece. I'll probably cut them apart to be glued onto a custom figure after being painted up.
While working away today machining some bronze and black nylon I thought some of the chips would look awesome in a pen casting. Nothing goes to waste even the chips are getting reused. I can't wait to demold these blanks and try them out especially the black nylon casting on the upper left.
A local from a catamaran casts his net into the water. These guys are not fishing for san (as in previous pictures), but for fish. Balapitiya, near Galle, Sri Lanka, June 2011.

Turns out this casting has multiple applications and comes in many forms, all with the same casting number, some with auto adjusters, some with none, metric and imperial ports and with a 1" bore, 1 1/8", and 1 1/4" bore. Turns out the ones I need, metric ports, 1 1/4" bore with auto adjusters are the hardest to locate. bloody figures, thankfully we have it covered.
