Empty carousels are a little forlorn, at least to me. No laughter, no little hands grabbing for the gold ring, and the music seems sad and tinny....where are all the children? This one was in Fountainebleau, France.
I was looking through old photos and found this one. I was getting ready to post it and I noticed it was taken eleven years ago today. Have a happy Saturday!

Master planning for Centre Island Park began in 1956, leading to the creation of several notable landmarks. Among them was the hexagon-shaped Iroquois Restaurant, designed by Hancock, Little, Calvert Associates. Perched on the bank of a lagoon, the building was distinguished by its folded copper roof and massive timber beams. Originally opened as the Iroquois, it is now known as the Carousel Café.

The best part of a roller-coaster ride is when you're going up and you're slightly scared and really excited and you don't know what's coming next! If you can't handle it, go on the carousel.
This carousel is in my home town and was built in 1923.

The restoration of the carousel is almost done
