Looff Carousel built in 1909. I have been riding this since I was a little girl (a long time ago). Everyone runs for the outside horses so they can grab metal rings from a dispensing arm. The rings have to be quickly aimed to throw into a clown's mouth on the wall as you ride by.

Do you ever feel like everything around you is moving so fast but you're just standing still?
It's so easy to fall captive to routine...then you blink and a day has flown by. Then a week, then a year...then 50 years. It's my worst fear. I refuse to let life slide by me. I refuse to have it planned out for me, for it to become predictable. The only way to get off the carousel is to step down.

Andrew and I visited the Del Mar fair the last week before they packed up and left. The whole fair is always flooded with people, but not the kid zone. I convinced the staff to let me "borrow" the carousel for a few minutes. I didn't even have to forfeit my tickets.
I'm done with carousels, figuratively and literally. This expansion is composed of 40 separate images and took me about two weeks to edit on and off. The largest one I've ever attempted..and with a monopod (and assistant) nonetheless.
I almost had Photoshop crash on me multiple times. Lucky it didn't or you guys would probably never see this image. 3/52 is already in the works. :)
