Ever since I read "The Pact" by Jodi Picoult, I can't help but feeling a bit bittersweet when I see a carousel. I love them though. My grandma used to take me and my brother to a carousel near her house everytime we stayed with her when we were little. The guy who worked there was our friend so he'd let us ride on it over and over. Oh! those amazing times!.
... does anything make you feel like a child as instantly as just a glance at a carousel? This one is located in Central Park. It was crowded at the entrance, so I just had to work my way into a spot where I could capture a few pictures. I like being able to see a portion of the inside of the building that houses the carousel.
a funny title, because there is a bar in Austin by that name with no sign of a carousel. ;-)

There's something sad about Carousel ponies when there are no children sitting on them . . . These Carousel ponies were taken at the Balboa Fun Zone in Newport Beach, CA.
Vintage Carousel completely restored a few years ago this old antique is beautiful and gives the local kids much joy. Shot in North Carolina.
I love seeing, and photographing, carousels but, oddly enough, I hate riding them. I really wish that I could enjoy a ride on one of these noble steeds but I usually don't do very well on spinning rides, even if it's something as tame as this. The faster it spins, the worse my reaction will be. Sadly, carousels are going to remain something that I'll have to admire from afar.
This particular carousel was at the Empire State Fair in Uniondale, New York.
I'm always drawn to the carousel in the Albert Dock and usually can't resist stopping. The memories of childhood I guess :))

This beautiful carousel is located on the main square outside the Palais des Papes (Papal Palace} in Avignon, France. It rained most of this day so, the square was pretty empty and the carousel wasn't getting much business.
