Tribal Canoe Journeys of Pacific Northwest Native American Tribes, a significant cultural event that takes place once a year.
The Puyallup Tribe of Washington State was the host tribe for 2018 for all the Canoes sent by other tribes along the Pacific Northwest Coast. Tribes all along the coast traveled via paddling their traditional Ocean Canoes, beautiful, functional and ornate! These Canoe teams traveled from as far as Alaska, including far stretches of Vancouver Island, British Columbia and far stretches of Oregon Coast. Paddling for 4 to 6 six hours a day, some for over ten days, battling ocean current, heat and sheer physical exhaustion.
Each Canoe was fitted with a GPS Transponder and its latest position was updated in 30min intervals in the Website : paddletopuyallup.org/

The Slalom takes place on the purpose built a 700m white water course. Built in 1986, the course is made primarily from concrete. It is approximately 1500 metres long, drops just over 4 metres in height to produce Grade 3 whitewater rapids.

The benz looks better with a canoe on top. My new boat is a 15' Royalex Winoneh. Says "Saranac" on the receipt from 1998 that the woman gave me when I bought it from her, but I can't find Saranac in the history of Winoneh canoes. It's a good all-purpose boat, or so it seems. I think it is probably a spirit II or something similar. Plastic gunwales (no maintenance), a nice round bottom, a bit of rocker, and a fairly straight tumblehome. Should be fun.
Oh yeah - Impeach Clinton. Natch.
No just the start of the deck.
I wanted to be diffferent and add a 3D feel to the decks so I came up with this design. The wide planks are cedar and the center strips are poplar and redwood.
