After my fog post the other day, many of you have asked about the health and welfare of my little red canoe ... this is for you! (No comments necessary)
Please rest assured, he is safe and sound during this Winter... and will see you again when the weather warms up!
(I notice that a few of these are cropped strange, because of the square limitations...)
Clear Lake (Oregon) is a mountain lake at about 3000 feet elevation. It is known as exceptional freshwater dive spot. At this time of year, the sun makes light patterns on the almost white floor of the lake. With this day’s sun angle, my camera captured my shadow in our canoe as well as some colorful plants on the shore. Naturally, there is distortion and the canoe looks shorter and fatter than it really is.

Sunset above a pond in South Bohemia. Believe it or not, the very first photo I took with a digital camera.
The fellow paddling also built this unusual craft. The front is a canoe but the back is decked over like a kayak. He said he likes to be a bit different. Taken at Port Townsends Wooden Boat Festival woodenboat.org/
Lake Louise in Banff National Park, the Canadian Rockies. This is a glacier-fed lake - Alberta, Canada. This was an overcast day.
Inuksuk (also spelled inukshuk, plural inuksuit) is a figure made of piled stones or boulders constructed to communicate with humans. This was taken last fall. Unfortunately, this Inukshuk did not survive the winter, probably brought down by the high water this spring.
Red canoes, turquoise water, and dark skies complete this scene at Lake Louise.

I liked the light and the repetition of the canoe hulls stacked against one another.
I wish I had a dollar for every morning walk at the lake where I had thoughts about capturing an image of the rental boats near the public boat landing. Last weekend I finally did so.
I had my camera, the light was right, and these canoes were in a nice formation. I anticipated doing something in black and white as I released the shutter and this is the result.
I caught the moon coming up the other day, so this seemed natural. Of course, I can hardly breath this time without sucking up mosquitoes.

Yes, my fine flickr friends, I took a punt(ow !) tonight with this title - however if you have heard the other ones I was considering , you would be all thinking how kayak (groan) she do this to us ;).
I am just sticking my oar in tonight(another groan) as I have not been on here for a few days and do not have much time tonight either. So this photo is more to say hello to you all and ask you Canoe (ouch !) bear with me a little while before I can pop in to your streams (ouch again) to comment, fave - say hello ?
View under water as we proceeded to the shoreline on the St. Lawrence River near Cornwall. The paddle moved the dust up from the underwater mudbank.
Gurd Lake is one of the inland lakes, located about 10 km inland from the north east corner of Georgian Bay, a lake that offer endless canoeing and kayaking adventures. Another view, just for You! Enjoy it!

A marvellous January 2’nd out on the St. Lawrence River that has yet to freeze over. There is however sheets of ice that must be avoided when canoeing as it could cause damage hitting it and even flip us. 15 km/ hr west wind created moderate waves no more a foot high with moderate current directed east downstream. It was a marvellous winter sunset at 4:28 PM. Below a view from the side of the canoe...
