Canoeing past a shear basalt cliff on Lake Lenore in Eastern Washington I saw our shadow/reflection projected up onto the basalt cliff we were passing.
Seven vaka (voyaging canoes) from New Zealand anchored in Hanalei Bay on their way to San Francisco.

The canoe is now being painted. I've laid down 4 coats of 'Oxford Blue', and four coats of 'Cream'. At the moment the last coat of cream is drying so the masking tape is still in place. I also gave the foredeck its first coat of clear varnish too,
Still to do -
Paint a metalic bronze pinstripe between the blue and cream.
Touch up the black (graphite epoxy) on the bow.
Another four coats of varnish to the foredeck and gunwales, seat and kneeling thwarte.
Finish the inner hull after fitting an airtight bulkhead in the bow for additional floatation.
