After deep frying the wings, I tossed them in a honey garlic chili sauce, and served them with fries and a tossed salad. It was delicious!

Steamed Egg with Ground Pork. This is another Hakka Chinese dish I grew up with in Jamaica. This version has Pork and Dried Shrimps. I usually add Corned Fish and Salted Duck Eggs on top to finish it but this was another pantry dive. It turned out well and tasted yummy!

Another Air Fryer Adventure...

I did a whole Rock Cornish Hen in the air fryer and it was delicious!

I had used the Poultry setting (400F at 15 minutes) and it was pretty good but I had to put it back in for a couple minutes. Maybe because the meat was a bit dense? Or maybe because I had stuffed it with herbs, preventing the air from circulating through the cavity? I think next time I'll try 375F at 20-22 minutes.

This is the best, most versatile kitchen appliance I've used in a long time! More experiments to come...

Everything tasted great, especially since each dish was accompanied by some cold noodles, kimchi, and bean sprouts. As with most outlets in this food court, the portions are very generous and the prices are cheap!

I really enjoy a good steak every once in a while. These were on sale at my local market - three steaks for only $10. They were tender and juicy, a lot better than I had expected.

These were done in a pan on the stovetop and basted with butter, something I haven't done in a while. I've been using an electric grill, a toaster oven, and even my oven. This was the quickest method and maybe the best but kinda messy.

Chen Ap, my signature duck dish, takes hours to prepare but the results are well worth it! It's fall off the bone tender, a bit sweet, and so delicious!

The seasonings are simple - salt, soy sauce, garlic. After browning it in a wok to give it a nice colour, it's steamed until almost falling off the bone. This could take up to a couple of hours.

The key to the great taste is the sauce, made from the syrup of two Chinese pickled vegetables that are practically impossible to find these days. The sauce alone could take upwards of half an hour to make.

To serve, pour the sauce over the duck and garnish with the pickles. This dish is sooo good!

These Korean Kimchi Dumplings are very tasty, inexpensive, and so simple to prepare, whether deep fried, pan fried, steamed, or boiled.

My favourite way to eat them is deep fried. I love the crispy texture of the skin while the filling remains moist. A scallion mayo dip is the perfect complement for me.

I only discovered this food court last year, located in a neighbourhood that I rarely visit, and this was my first time buying food there.

Great Fountain is the biggest and busiest vendor in this very small food court. Instead of a condensed, written menu, they have pictures of each dish, with descriptions and prices, covering almost every square inch of their very large counter.

It took me a while but I settled on the Steamed Preserved Vegetables with Pork Belly on Rice (T44 on the menu). It came with fresh vegetables and a choice of soup. I had the Hot and Sour Soup and opted for a can of Coke. The total cost was only $8.00, including tax! Bargain! Yummy! I'll definitely be back!

Chinese food, especially from food courts, is probably one of the best values for a good tasty meal.

Yummy, yummy, yummy!

It's been a little while since I've cooked Beef with Chinese Broccoli (Gai Lan) but it turned out really tasty, even though I may have overcooked the veggies just a little bit!

I also made some Chinese Cabbage Rolls, using ground chicken. This was my first time attempting to make cabbage rolls of any kind. Unfortunately, the finely ground chicken that I got was really mushy and wouldn't hold a shape very well. Maybe I should have added some rice to give it a bit more body. I may also have used the wrong cabbage. This one was really thin.

Despite the technical difficulties, it tasted really good, especially with the Chinese sausages! Along with the chicken, I had added some dried shrimps, shiitake mushrooms, garlic, seasonings, and some water chestnuts for a nice texture. Maybe I'll try it with ground pork next time.

As good as the quality of this steak was, and it was delicious, somehow it didn't compare to the 90 day dry aged T-Bone I recently had, courtesy of Chef Eva Chin at Kojin.

This one was definitely tender, juicy, and delicious! The asparagus, carrots, and scalloped potatoes were the perfect accompaniments!

Mmm, I had a craving for wings again! Although this batch looks almost identical to the last batch, this one was seasoned mostly with garlic, paprika, and lime juice. It's a slight nod to Portuguese Piri Piri chicken. The fries were also tossed in garlic and Parmesan right after they came out of the fryer. Yummm!

These Korean Kimchi Dumplings are very tasty, inexpensive, and so simple to prepare, whether deep fried, pan fried, steamed, or boiled.

My favourite way to eat them is deep fried. I love the crispy texture of the skin while the filling remains moist. A scallion mayo dip is the perfect complement for me.

I have a lot of veggies in the fridge and some of them are starting to fade. Hmmm, what can I cook? I know! Chicken with Chinese Broccoli (gai lan)!

This dish came together fairly quickly and turned out quite tasty. The chicken was seasoned with garlic, light soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and a little oyster sauce. The veggies were sauteed with garlic and ginger.

I get these cravings for wings once in a while so I've been cooking them more often than I thought I would.

This time, I brined them for a few hours before going Greek style, seasoning them with garlic, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. I dusted them with seasoned flour before deep frying.

They turned out very tender, crispy, juicy, and tasty! I also dressed them with crumbled feta cheese when they came out of the fryer and had tzatziki on the side.

I also made garlic Parmesan fries to go with it. Delicious!

It's been a long time since I've made pasta sauce, especially from scratch.

I kinda crammed everything into this version, starting with a blend of ground beef and ground pork, Italian sausage, mushrooms, and stewed tomatoes. They all worked very well together! I served it with Fettuccine pasta. Yummy!

A glass of Dry Creek Cabernet Sauvignon went with it perfectly!
