Calling Home is an 'empathy engine' disguised as a data visualization exercise, participants answer questions about their own housing situation while learning about what persons experiencing homlessness in King County go through.

La Universidad celebró el simposio: “SOStenibilidad Calling”, el jueves 16 de mayo en el Campus de la Dehesa de la Villa.
El profesor Eduardo Roig, coordinador del Máster de Tecnologías en Edificación Sostenible de la Universidad Nebrija, abrió esta jornada en la que hizo referencia a la banda británica The Clash y su canción London Calling, para reivindicar responsabilidades, en este caso encaminadas hacia una arquitectura sostenible.
La situación actual de la edificación sostenible en España y la búsqueda de principios generadores de una Naturaleza Artificial estabilizadora de nuestro futuro común fueron los temas de este simposio, que reflexionó sobre los límites ortodoxos de la construcción –y destrucción- de arquitectura, cuyas bases se diluyen en pro de una nueva modernidad que busca la adaptación al medio.
El encuentro contó con María López de Asiaín, especialista en medioambiente de la Facultad de Arquitectura y Diseño de la UCOL de México, que participó en esta jornada a través de una videoconferencia; Marta Húmera, responsable de proyectos de la Fundación de la Casa que Ahorra, Javier Mata, profesor de la Universidad Nebrija experto en eficiencia energética, y Rosana Rubio profesora del Máster de Tecnologías en Edificación Sostenible de Nebrija.

This little tit was calling for it's mama flying nearby. He was still so young that he wasn't afraid of me at all. In fact, a few minutes after this shot he flew even closer to me and after that: on top of my camera :)

King Street Station serves all Amtrak and Sounder trains calling on Seattle. Back in the day, this was where you caught the Great Northern's Empire Builder and the Northern Pacific's North Coast Limited, both first-class streamliners serving the Northwest, Upper Plains and Upper Midwest en route to Chicago. Now, you can catch Amtrak's Coast Starlight to Los Angeles, the Empire Builder to Chicago, Cascades to Portland/Eugene or Vancouver, B.C. (that's a Cascades train parked in the station) or a Sounder commuter train to Tacoma or Everett (sorry, rush hours only).
My first and only bus picture.... standing on the road bridge at the south end of Cheltenham Racecourse Station to photograph the railway below, I heard an unfamiliar but very pleasing engine note coming up the hill, I turned round and just managed to capture this 1969/70 Bristol RE single decker as it tore past me at a rate of knots. I know next to nothing about buses and would be grateful if a certain Mr. Bentos of this parish (or anyone else?) could shed some light on this one...

This is Eden trying to call her mom to tell her that when we were trying to find the Conservancy Garden in Central Park, we came across a map that told us that we had been walking in entirely the wrong direction. When I set off again, Eden stopped me, saying, "Dad--you're still going the wrong way." As indeed I was. Eden was eager to tell Janine this anecdote.

I recently completed the flyer and poster design for Hertfordshire’s Standon Calling festival. This years theme was ’space’ and it featured the intergalactic lords of Jazz; Sun Ra Arkestra, Femi Kuti and The Positive Force, Chrome Hoof and hundreds more!
Good times had!
