Whistler Mountain was originally called London Mountain and it was changed to Whistler in the 60s. At the top of the mountain there is an antenna and hut for communication equipment (I have a 12 year old picture of the same tower way back in my photostream here and it looks like they have added a few more antennas).
It is interesting how things have changed since then technology wise. There is WiFi and the lift passes are RFID cards which are scanned as you get on lifts. There is even an app for the mountain that will track your skiing with your cell phones GSP so you know your max speed, number of runs etc. All this information is collected by the resort of course and they offer discounted lift tickets if you register your RFID card so the resort now knows where you are from and all your skiing data - which is great for the resorts marketing department and not so great for your privacy.
Another trip to Old Town Alexandria, Virginia on a street candid mission to continue my in-camera contrast adjustments. I just hate post processing.
Today the weather forecast was for it to brighten up but it stayed murky all day. I met with Tony in the usual place to walk the Pevensey Levels it was muddy but not as bad as it had been on my previous visit. So although the cameras stayed firmly in our bags for most of the walk however we did manage some images. Here are my five 2 of a Marsh Harrier two of geese and one of the Great White Egret!!.
I wrote my second poem!! I really like writing them! I am starting to think about poems that fits my photo's, so cool! Playing with words is almost as fun as taking photo's:-)
Long Distance Calling
With my feet in the clay of the plowed field, I try to talk about my thoughts. But nobody is listening. No one around to hear my cry for help, nobody to put an arm around me ..
My soul is torn, that's why the plowed field feels familiar. I feel related to the field, my ripped soul is like the field of my future, ready to be sown. Everything that was once below the topsoil is now lying on the surface. Once inaccessible and hidden, now visible and fragile.
I want to talk about my feelings, want to close the past. But I can't do that on my own.....
I must talk, talk about the past. My feelings from the past could be poison for the fragile seeds in the field of my future.
But as far as I can see there is no one to confess my feelings to, no one around to share my feelings with. I am alone with the endless void .....
I would like to have contact, I want to talk. Only then can I sow my field of the future.
I've given everything to find someone to talk talk to. Even though I can't see them, they should be out there. I feel that my future depends on these people. Therefore I try to reach them in my final attempt.
I build my network of hope, a machine that sends my cry for help over long distances.... Long Distance Calling
He/she spent easily three minutes calling and calling for whatever reason they do. Allowed me to come quite close. After a few minutes it suddenly flew to a branch two arm-lengths from my face. Looked at me for a few seconds, then dropped to earth, caught something, and flew away!
Same area as the other one with lunch.
"But I wait . . .
Wait for the mists and for the blacker rain--
Heavier winds that stir the veil of fate."
F. Scott Fitzgerald
Keep making music.
Keep writing poetry.
Keep calling.
I will continue to take photos.
Just keep doing what you do.

Despite their steely eyes, and the human use of their image to represent American bravado, the voice of the bald eagle is not at all fierce. It's more like a chirp.
