My daughter's 3rd birthday cake. I've been wanting to do a cake like this for a while so I kind of went wild. I actually wanted to do more....like add a spoon:)
Chloe and Sophie's joint second birthday party today and this was the cake Martie made. We were all astonished at her incredible artistry.
Slightly taller version: cake, flowers and all pearls in fondant. I haven't got a pearl mould so I rolled fondant balls and threaded them on to cotton. I know that the flowers need more work and will persevere. The diamante are an old pair of earrings. The flowers are a bit clumsy, I will go back to using Flower Paste as I normally do.
OK, I have to say I did this design just because I wanted to paint the grass. I have seen other decorators do it and just love the way it looks. Also, just got a new 3D butterfly stencil I was trying out. This was a cake for the preteen church girls who were having their mothers as guests so the design was totally up to me. Boy, was it nice just doing a simple pretty cake: no stress, they LOVED it, and I had fun - THIS is the reason I decorate cakes.

this was the most delicious wedding cake I have ever had in the two weddings I have attended. it was absolutely perfect, inside and out.
there were mini cakes at every table, just like this one!
(I know fondant usually tastes like crap, but I was very impressed by the non-crappy taste of this fondant!)
I was baking mocha cupcakes for a cake sale at work tomorrow, in aid of Macmillan. My lovely colleague is off tomorrow, so as she couldn't contribute, she gave me some of her free range chook eggs to bake with - turned out well, I think!
The cake I did for my son's 1st bday. First time doing this design (inspired by Rouvelee @ Rouvelee's Creations and Dot @ Cupcakes by Design , Pastrychick)
10"x6"x6"H Cake made of dark mud, white mud, dark mud, layered in cookies 'n' cream buttercream, covered in dark choc ganache.
First time doing a Tatty Teddy. Made of fondant and fur piped in RI (my daughter said it looked scary b/c the fur was spikey, thanks to my not-so-good piping skills)

Royal Adelaide Show FIRST PRIZE winner. Rose wedding cake. Dummy.
This is one of those cakes that turned out just the way I wanted. I thought it would be cool if I could pull it off :). Inspired by Rose Trellis Faberge Egg.
Roses are gumpaste. Trellis and egg support Fran's modeling paste.
There are 50 miniature hand moulded roses on the egg. I made 240 leaves in total. The first 120 turned out a little too dark, so made another batch. There were 12 trellis made just in case. Took me forever.
I dropped one of the trelli with the branch already attached just before attaching it to the cake. OMG. Yes, it did brake, bottom left corner and one rose petal. Had to come down for 30 minutes and then RI did the rest ...
Not my cake - my friend did it! Leanne is coming to host a class on this cake in November!!! She entered the Oklahoma Sugar Art Show last year with this cake and won 8th place. My website is www.Sweetwise.com for the class, hers is www.savoryandsweet.com for the cake!!!
