The food was inredible, but the wine and women were still better. That caraffe of wine did me in good. A little too good.

We started watching the new Battlestar Galactica from the beginning (Netflix rocks) and it looks like we're already hooked!
Braised Pork Jowl Ragu over Pappardelle Pasta with a 2006 Scribe Cabernet Sauvignon.
A little over 3 hours of braising makes for magic on the plate.

Jordan Winemaker Rob Davis and CEO John Jordan hosted a retrospective tasting and luncheon at Ai Fiori in New York on April 5 in honor of the winery's 40th anniversary celebration. Twenty five sommeliers, wine buyers and media tasted 10 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon vintages from 2010 barrel samples back to 1976, as well 1976 Chateau Latour and 2006 Ducru Beaucaillou.
Fresno State general viticulture 101 students harvested Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and recorded yield data in the campus vineyard as part of a yield mapping experiment. Students were assigned equidistant points on a fishnet grid, and counted numbers of plants and clusters to decide the yield for a certain vine and determining variability. It was the first time that exercised was conducted by the class in the vineyard by new faculty member Dr. Luca Brillante and will allow for comparisons in the future.
