A little out of focus (I wish I could say it was the wine talking!) - but this 95 point Cab Sav was awesome. Paired with couple of ribeyes from Whole Foods tonight, a spectacular combination. This wine came up for consumption, after a good friend was sorting through his wine cellar and found he had almost a case of this juice lying around!

Fresno State general viticulture 101 students harvested Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and recorded yield data in the campus vineyard as part of a yield mapping experiment. Students were assigned equidistant points on a fishnet grid, and counted numbers of plants and clusters to decide the yield for a certain vine and determining variability. It was the first time that exercised was conducted by the class in the vineyard by new faculty member Dr. Luca Brillante and will allow for comparisons in the future. Ragaa had the best Cabernet Sauvignon I've ever tasted. We ordered a caraffe for $20. Had to share it with Kipp. It was a lot. Clint still had about 5 glasses. It was quite the way to start the night, but it tasted so damn good it was impossible to stop drinking it!

Enjoy a glass (or 4) of stunning Cabernet Sauvignon from Silver Oak. The 2007 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon combines elegance and depth in a balanced expression of this classic California vintage. It has a dark ruby color with a garnet edge and a complex nose of sandalwood, cedar, cassis, black cherry, dark chocolate and roasted coffee. On the palate, it is extremely rich and mouth-coating and has a long finish of concentrated fruit and spice with a slight tannic grip.
