I saw some pretty button fairies on flickr and thought I'd have a go at making one, this is my first attempt I trimmed her up a bit after this photo, and have now sent her to a friend as a gift.
This was a late in the batch pour - but I still love it. A vintage button card with button attached. The resin was alreaddy setting when I poured so it's cloudy - but I like the idea!

As another hallmark of a true handmade garment the button is attached on a rather large "stick". This is done by having the button attached loosely at a certain distance from the garment.
The loose threads are then wrapped by the thread and firmly attached through the stick.
This gives room between the body of the garment and the button so that it is easier to button up and does not strain the front plackets of the shirt.
A call button is great if the patient has the ability to use it. But what happens when the patient can't & there's no one to hear her cries of pain?
There are a total of 21 hand-made button packs in this edition. Each pack will be signed and numbered on the back of the header card.
Each pack contains 3 carefully shuffled and sorted buttons on a hand painted and cut display board, and are sealed in a bag guarded by a pair of Kuso Customs and a neatly crimped length of wire.
They will be available on Thursday between 4pm and 5:30pm and on Friday between 5pm and 6pm at booth 605 during signings.
The packs retail for $5 and are intended for neato nostalgia factor. Individual buttons will be available to pick and wear (or not) for $1 each.

The button is just to the top right of the photo. I guess you can't really see it, but when the wind is coming off of Lake Michigan, damn that heat feels good.
name: Button Hopscotch
made for: E
size: 7
status: Completed
date completed: October, 28, 2013
working notes: Long-sleeve Hopscotch dress in Joann button knit fabric. Used Wonder Tape for the first time - success! That and double needle made for much nicer hems than I've made in the past on knits.
