This is a fake Italian or Spanish "country" style piece that was refinished and doesn't look that good, in my opinion. It was originally very dark, which didn't look that good, either, but it looked more like what it was trying to reproduce. It has a pretty nice THICK wood slab on top, which hangs off the left end more than the right, and is kind of a light yellowish wood with worm holes and other sort of rustic features.
Second plate: the broccoli in the Chicken with Broccoli was also tender-crisp and nice to eat, though it had that "triple wash" taste that tells us it came from a food service bag. Meats were ok, not overcooked.

Ich weiß nicht ob ich es schon erwähnt habe, aber ich bin nicht so der große Kirmesgänger… Von mir aus könnt ihr es auch gerne Rummel oder Volksfest nennen, ist letztlich auch egal, mag ich alles eigentlich nicht so gerne. Also die Fahrgeschäfte… Die kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten...

I had gone downstairs to do a little work on my netbook and, while I was sitting in the bar area, the staff at the hostel started putting out the breakfast buffet. I didn't pay much attention to them at first, but, as time went by, I did get up and take a look. Eventually, I got a little hungry. However, I figured the buffet would run me more than I wanted to pay. When I found out it was only a little over $2, I jumped at the chance to enjoy what was on the buffet line. Sure, it was vegetarian, but it was really good vegetarian.
